My Argumentation About The Election In Indonesia

In 2022, Indonesia witnessed a wave of student protests that the political landscape of the
country. The protests were sparked by rumors of a possible delay or cancellation of the 2024
general elections and proposals to amend the constitution to allow President Joko Widodo to
have a third term. The students, who were mostly from universities and colleges, expressed
their dissatisfaction with the government’s performance, especially in addressing the
economic and social issues facing the nation. They also demanded the protection of
democracy and the constitution, which they saw as being threatened by the political elite. The
student protests of 2022 reflect the importance of the 2024 general elections for the
Indonesian nation, as they demonstrate the students’ awareness, participation, and influence
in the political process.
The 2024 general elections are crucial for the future of Indonesia, as they will determine the
direction and quality of the country’s democracy, development, and stability. The students,
who are the largest and most educated segment of the population, have a vital role to play in
shaping the outcome of the elections and holding the elected leaders accountable. Therefore,
the students should continue to voice their opinions, exercise their rights, and engage in
constructive dialogue with the government and the society.
