Activity 1
The T elicits the expressions used to make offers and promises, checks homework and offers
feedback.
The T introduces new vocabulary:
to injure= to hurt somebody, to damage=to destroy, a deteriora, to drill= making holes in the
ground ,a fora, fracking= the process of drilling down into the earth to extract gas, snowfalls=
căderi de zăpadă, loud noises= zgomote puternice, temperature increases= creșteri de
temperatură, levees=diguri
The Ss make up sentences with some of the new words
He was badly injured in the accident.
The fire damaged a lot of buildings.
Heavy snowfalls cause avalanches.
Loud noises came from the attic.
Activity 2 -reading
The Ss read while listening to the text “The power of nature”

and then answer the comprehension questions in exercise 2 page 30.
Activity 3- listening
The Ss recycle vocabulary connected to weather and extract specific information while they
listen to the weather forecast for UK.
Activity 4 –speaking
The SS complete a chart with a weather forecast about a country of their own choice. In pairs
they ask and answer questions about their chosen country.
Homework: ex 1,2 page 35.
