Individualized Education Plan for Learner with Difficulty Walking and Moving

Mathew is a 14 year-old student who is entering Grade 8 student with a spinal cord
injury which resulted on him being unable to feel and move the lower half of his body and
uses a wheelchair to move around the school. However, despite this Mathew has distinct
analyzing capabilities and has been an active member of the chess club. He is also not
ashamed of his disability and is very vocal when he needs assistance around the school.
However, he has problems in participating in P.E. class due to his physical impairment. As
his next teacher how will include him to this years’ team sports.
Things to consider
a. You are in the first quarter of the grading period and you are teaching basketball.
b. Because of Mathew’s disability instead of enrichment activities consider
modification or accommodations of curriculum.
c. Only cover 4 topics in the IEP.
