Another benefit for many people and businesses is that work can
continue outside the office. Phone calls can be made almost anywhere
and documents can be read or written on public transport or in cafes.
This is extremely beneficial for people who have long trips to work.

but a person who spends too much time on their computer may find that
their health suffers in the long run.

Overpopulation is indeed a growing concern in the developing world,
causing many of the planet's environmental problems. Although an
increasing population does have a negative impact on the environment to
an extent, the greatest problem is in fact caused by the way in which
humans choose to live their lives.

Overpopulation does have a serious impact on the world's environment

for several reasons. An increase in population means more pollution,
caused by more cars on the road, more factories, more farming and
more household chemicals. Pollution is a significant environmental issue
and it can have a serious effect on human and animal health.

Overpopulation also means that natural resources are decreasing more
rapidly. The modern world is consuming more than it can produce.
People are continuously buying more products and building more houses.
Fresh water, oil and natural gas are just some of the resources which are
in demand.

Perhaps overpopulation would not be an issue, however, if society

changed the way in which it lived. For example, in order to help these
environmental problems, people could try to save natural resources by
using less water or by consuming fewer products. They could also try to
reuse or recycle more. Pollution could also be kept to a minimum if
people only bought organic food or tried to use their cars less.

affluence and success. In your opinion, is being wealthy the sanme
thing as being successful?

When we hear about an affluent business tycoon or a rich celebrity, our
intinal reaction may be one of admiration. We admire their wealth and
success that we perceive them of having gained. However, material riches
are neither equivalent to nor necessary for success.

Without close personal relationship with family and friends, life would
become empty and devoid of meaning. Every dollar we earned would be
worthless if we had no companions to share our ups and downs, highs
and lows, joys and sorrows. Even a millionare could not be considered
successful if he were friendless and alone. True companionship cannot be
bought at any price.

In addition to loving relationships, genuine success also requires a fulfilling
vocation or some kind of raison d’etre. To feel good about ourselves and
lead a fulfilling life, we all need to have a gratifying career or interests that
we enjoy. As the US author Helen Keller once noted, happiness is
attained through “fidelity” to a worthy purpose.

In sum, being wealthy is not the same as being successful. A low income
earner blessed with a contented family life and a satisfying job could be
considered a success, while a miserly millionaire with no companions or
purpose in life would be an abject failure.
