Nihongo de nikka ni tsuite hanasu
Talking about your routine in Japanese

たなか : ジョンさん、いつも いっぱい たべます ね。

John-san, itsumo ippai tabemasu ne.
John, you always eat a lot, huh?

ジョン : まいにち、ごぜんちゅう、おなか が ペコペコ です。

Mainichi, gozenchū, onaka ga pekopeko desu.
I get hungry every day in the morning.

たなか : あさごはん は、まいにち たべます か。

Asagohan wa, mainichi tabemasu ka?
Do you eat breakfast every day?

ジョン : はい、たべます。そして、ジムにいきます。
それから、かいしゃに いきます。
Hai, tabemasu. Soshite, jimu ni ikimasu. Sorekara, kaisha ni
ikimasu.
Yes, I do eat. I also go to the gym. After that, I go to work
(company).

たなか : へぇ、まいにち ですか。すごい です ね。

Hee, mainichi desu ka? Sugoi desu ne.
Wow, every day? That’s incredible.

ジョン : たなかさんは、うんどうします か。
Tanaka-san wa, undō shimasuka?
What about you, Tanaka? Do you work out?

たなか : わたしは、ときどき、プールに行きます。
Watashi wa tokidoki pūru ni ikimasu.
I go to the pool sometimes.

だれか に ハングアウト に さんか できる かどうか たずねる

Dare ka ni hanguauto ni sanka dekiru ka dō ka tazuneru
Asking someone if they are free to hangout

Aki : また、会いたいです。いつ空いてます か。
Mata aitai desu. Itsu aitemasuka
I’d like to see you again. When are you free?

Tomo : こんしゅうは、けっこう いそしい です。

らいしゅう の げつようび は、どうです か。
Konshū wa kekkō isogashii desu.
Raishū no getsuyōbi wa dō desuka
I’m pretty busy this week. How about next Monday?

Aki : らいしゅうは、あいて いません。らいげつ に あいたらおしえ

て ください。
Raishū wa aitemasen. Raigetsu ni aitara oshiete kudasai
I’m not free next week. Just let me know when you are free next
month.

Tomo: もちろん。メール を おくります。では、また あいましょう！

Mochiron. Mēru wo okurimasu. Dewa mata aimashō
Sure, I’ll send you an e-mail. See you soon!

At the Office
Business phone conversations are extremely polite.

1. やまださん を おねがいします。
Yamada-san o onegai shimasu
Could I speak to Mr. Yamada?

2. もうしわけ ありません が､ ただいま がいしゅつ して おり

ます｡
Mōshiwake arimasen ga, tadaima gaishutsu shiteorimasu.
I'm sorry, but he's not here at the moment.

3. しょうしょう おまち ください｡

Shoushou omachi kudasai.
Just a moment, please.

4. しつれい です が､どちら さま です か｡
Shitsurei desu ga, dochira sama desu ka.
Who's calling, please?

5. なんじ ごろ おもどり です か｡
Nanji goro omodori desu ka.
Do you know what time he/she will be back?

6. ちょっと わかりません｡
Chotto wakarimasen.
I'm not sure.

7. もうすぐ もどる と おもいます｡

Mōsugu modoru to omoimasu.
He/She should be back soon.

Yuugata made modorimasen.
He/she won't be back till this evening.

9. なにか おつたえ しましょうか｡

Nanika otsutae shimashou ka.
Can I take a message?

10.おねがいします｡
Onegaishimasu.
Yes, please.

11. いいえ､ けっこう です｡

Iie, kekkou desu.
No, it's O.K.

12. おでんわ ください と おつたえ ねがえます か｡

Odenwa kudasai to otsutae negaemasu ka.
Could you please ask him/her to call me?

13. また でんわ します と おつたえ ください｡

Mata denwa shimasu to otsutae kudasai.
Could you please tell him/her I'll call back later?
