The pie graphs illustrate the main reasons for using phones by African

teenagers in the period from 2016 to 2019.


Overall, even though there were many functions in cell phones, the main one
for teenagers was social networks, which continuously increasing over the 4- year
period.
To begin with, in 2016 half percent of the way using a mobile phone was
social networks, which was 2% more than in 2017. In second place in 2016 was
email reason pointing to 25% and in 2017 this indicator was slightly less at 24%.
In third place was using a digital camera with a stable 15% in 2016 and 2017. The
smallest one in 2016 was phone calls with 10%, which was lower at 3% compared
to 2017.
On the contrary, in 2018 and 2019 the biggest ones were the same reason of
social networks with 51% and 56%.In 2018 email was 20% higher by 1%
compared to 2019. After it standing at 18% was a digital camera, while in 2019 it
was 20%. Phone calls were 11% in 2018 and decreased by 6% in 2019.
