Control Unity

Problem statment

The use of the classic Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID)

controller in industrial control systems is a widely adopted
approach due to its simplicity and effectiveness in controlling
various industrial processes. However, the application of classic
PID controllers can also pose challenges and limitations in
certain situations. For instance, the classic PID controller may
not be suitable for processes with significant time delays,
nonlinearities, or varying dynamics, as it assumes a constant and
linear relationship between input and output variables.
This can result in oscillations, overshoot, and instability in
the control system.
Why classic PID is bad ?

Poor tuning: Improperly tuned PID controllers can result in instability,

oscillations, and poor control performance. Tuning requires knowledge
of the system dynamics and an understanding of the PID controller
parameters.

Nonlinearities: PID controllers assume a linear relationship between the

input and output variables, but many industrial processes exhibit
nonlinear behavior that can lead to poor control performance.

Time delays: The classic PID controller does not account for time delays
in the system, which can lead to oscillations and instability.

Disturbances: External disturbances, such as changes in load or

Chemical and process industries: PID controllers are commonly used to

control temperature, pressure, flow, and level in various chemical and
process industries.

Manufacturing and production: PID controllers are used to regulate

process variables, such as speed, position, and torque, in manufacturing
and production processes.

HVAC systems: PID controllers are used to control heating, ventilation,

and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in commercial and residential
buildings.

Robotics and automation: PID controllers are used to control the

movement and positioning of robots in industrial automation applications.

Automotive and transportation: PID control

Sales and marketing strategy

Highlight the benefits: One of the main advantages of an industrial unity of control system is
that it allows for streamlined operations and increased efficiency. This can lead to cost savings
and improved productivity, which are key selling points for potential customers.

Emphasize safety: Industrial unity of control systems are often used in safety-critical
applications, such as in oil refineries, chemical plants, and power generation facilities.
By emphasizing the safety benefits of these systems, you can help potential customers unders-
tand the importance of investing in a reliable and high-quality control system.

Showcase the technology: Industrial unity of control systems typically use advanced
technologies such as distributed control systems (DCS) or programmable logic controllers
(PLC). Highlighting these technologies and how they work can help differentiate your product
from competitors and show potential customers that you offer cutting-edge solutions.

Provide case studies: Sharing case studies or success stories of other customers who have
implemented your industrial unity of control system can help build trust and credibility with
potential customers. These examples can demonstrate the real-world benefits of your product
and give customers a sense of what they can expect if they choose to work with you.

Offer training and support: Industrial unity of control systems can be complex and require
specialized knowledge to operate effectively. By offering training and support services, you can
help customers feel more confident in their ability to use your product and reduce the risk of
errors or downtime.
