Improve the immune system. Norman Cousin’s Anatomy of an Illness, first published in 1979, details how he cured
himself of a debilitating illness by using humor and laughter as a primary protocol. In debilitating pain, he said that 10
minutes of laughter allowed him hours of pain-free sleep. Laughter can actually change blood chemistry.

Stimulate lateral (creative) thinking. Several studies have shown increased levels of creativity when subjects were
placed in an environment of humor. Solutions to problems appear more readily when people are relaxed and enjoying the
process.

Improve our relationships. Victor Borge, the great Danish-American performer who kept us laughing for decades once
wrote, “Laughter is the shortest distance between two people. Think about it. If you’re laughing with others, you have
less tendency to create conflict with them.

Increase productivity. Dr. David Abramis at Cal State Long Beach is an expert in the field of fun. He's discovered that
people who have fun on the job are more creative, more productive, better decision-makers and get along better with co-
workers.

Author Gretchen Rubin realized that what she wanted most of all was to be happy. She decided to devote a year to
changing her life and herself into a state of happiness. She chronicled her experiment in her book called The Happiness
Project, and now devotes her life to helping others become happier. On her web site, thehappinessprojecttoolbox.com,
she talks about Personal Commandments for happiness.

One of the commandments is “Find the humor and joy in everything.” This has been one of my lifelong commitments.
For about thirty years, one thing I’ve told people, “If laughter is not your native tongue, at least cultivate it as a second
language.”

Developing a sense of humor and the ability to laugh at ourselves can be learned. If you’re someone who looks like
they’ve been weaned on a pickle and your face froze in that expression, it may take more work, but it can be done.

Here are a few recommendations:

Hang around funny people. Keep company with people who look at life in a positive, happy way and avoid those who
spend most of their time complaining about how awful or unfair life is. Whenever I call a certain friend, we begin
giggling the minute he picks up the phone. We both know we’re in for a lot of laughter.

Watch funny shows or movies. Read funny books or articles. Norman Cousins is only one of many people who have
improved their lives by immersing themselves in humor. For a while, skip the news broadcasts, television shows, and
books that showcase misery.

Find humor in everyday situations. Look for funny road signs or humorous headlines. Last week my friend was
driving us home from Seattle. He is not familiar with this state, but we were on a major highway. I dozed off. When I
awoke, I looked around and said in an alarmed voice, “Where are we?” At that point I realized he had missed the turn-
off. Fortunately, I recognized the terrain and realized we were on an alternate route. I was easily able to navigate us
home, but the initial expression on his face when I work up kept me laughing the rest of the trip. When he was assured
that we were fine, he started laughing, too.

Smile at a stranger. You never know how much you will brighten someone’s day by smiling at them. Say something
humorous to that person next to you in a long line. Make an amusing comment about the weather or something else.
Anthony Robbins says that, if we change our physiology—that is, we change from a frown to a smile—we can actually
change our physiology.

Hugh Sidey said, “Carry laughter with you wherever you go.” For the next thirty days carry laughter in your pocket.
Bring it out as often as possible. Seek out laughter. Provide laughter. For thirty days, do not permit yourself to complain.
Look for the positive aspect of any situation. Don’t agree with negative people. Give thanks for joy.

Why a Complete Clearing is Important Mary Ann Detzler

 Making sure you are working with less than 4% ego. Anything more than 4% is likely to blow openings in your
energy field, allowing discarnates and other attachments to interfere.
 Making sure High Self automatically sets up a shield to protect you and the client. Without a shield, you will
likely run into additional blocks and interference during the research process.

A relevant and complete research process

One area that many practitioners neglect is to set a healing intention that includes clearing all programs that are running
rather than just the programs related to the particular issues that a client articulates to you. Clearing takes zero time in
Spirit. There is no ethical or rational reason not to ask for a complete clearing of all programs that are running. It is only
the research that takes time. Remember that the reason that the conscious mind (read “ego”) reason that a client comes to
you may just be the Soul/Spirit’s way of getting the person help on an expanded level. If High Self will do the clearing,
then the programs are ready to be cleared. Also remember that what brings a client to you may be a symptom of a much
larger issue. For example, just because a person is coming to you because of a failed relationship doesn’t mean the Soul/
Spirit is not also asking for clearing of the persons blocking programs with SPIRIT and all that is.

(In Skills class, I occasionally get a certification candidate who complains that clearing all the programs coming up
means the clients may not come back. Please consider this: is it really the highest healing intention to desire dependence
from your clients? I can assure you from the experience that comes from twenty years of SRT practice, that the more
thorough and complete you are, the more clients you will have.)

As in prep to work, relevant and complete research follows intention. Having the following clear intentions about
research will keep your research time to a minimum, and assist you in being complete and accurate.
 Clear all programs, blocks, and interferences that are blocking your client in any way (remember this may be more
expanded than your client’s limited description of the issue).
 Allow High Self to guide your process in what the key issues/programs are. Starting with Chart 1, simply ask “Is
there a program to clear?” (not “Is there something to clear around issue X?”)
 Minimum amount of research for the most clearing and understanding. This will help eliminate any extraneous
intentions such as psychic voyeurism, curiosity, or ego validation. (Remember, have the consciousness that clarity
and efficiency bring in more abundance, not less).
 Research only to help change the conscious mind beliefs or emotional habits of the client. The main reason for
research or discussing research is to change the awareness of the client so they can make better, more informed
decisions. This is why it is usually not necessary to research or discuss upper-level charts (which require too much
conceptual explanation).

A thorough mop-up and completeness check

The number of items covered in mop-up these days is, as Robert Detzler puts it “without number.” The vast majority of
clearing (as opposed to research) takes place during mop-up. If you are not bothering with mop-up, or verifying that
High Self has completed mop-up, then you are missing a vital part of the clearing process. Most people who are not
meeting the minimum requirements of accuracy and completeness are not doing a thorough mop-up. Elements of a
thorough mop-up:
 Making sure to ask “Is there anything more to do?” once there are no more programs that need researching (up
until this point in the clearing process, the question is “Is there a program to clear?”) If you do not ask this
question, you may be missing important opportunities to clear all remaining programs, including all programs not
on charts, or to apply direct healing energies or assign additional spiritual helpers (see your Advanced SRT
Procedure for details).
 Verifying that mop-up has been completed. Here is where a thorough prep-to-work will pay off; if your High Self
is running programs that weren’t cleared in prep, or they were not updated with the latest information, they may
not be completing mopup. They should be clearing 100% of 100% of the items in mop-up. (Robert Detzler

refers to this as “clearing every jot, tittle, paragraph, and closing, sealing, and burning the books.”)
 Running through the check questions such as “Does the Soul/Spirit agree that it is cleared? Does my High Self
agree that the Soul/Spirit is cleared? Does the client’s High Self agree that the Soul/Spirit is cleared?” See the
Advanced SRT Procedure for details.
 Asking if Brain Restructuring is required (even if you don’t have to fill out the form, High Self will still often do
this as part of mop-up—simply verify).

Measuring accuracy and completeness

You can ask High Self to check the accuracy and completeness of your work using any number chart. The ideal numbers
for both are of course 100%. Note that consistent accuracy and completeness of 90% is a required minimum for those
seeking consultant certification, and 95% for those seeking teaching certification.

If you are new to the idea of a complete clearing, or you would like an update, a great way to become more proficient is
to take a class. The SRT Intensive Skills class is open to all practitioners who have completed the Advanced class. If it
has been awhile since you have taken an SRT class, you may want to consider taking a Review class or retake the
Advanced class from your local certified SRT teacher.

The major and most common challenge of working with SRT is blocks and interferences. The
blocks can be below Chart 3 or from higher level Beings from the God levels up and even at the
New Paradigm. Yesterday, I asked High Self what percent of the people working with SRT had
blocks and was given 88%. I then requested that High Self clear and remove all blocks for these
people, which was done. Today, when I asked what percent had blocks the figure was 56%. All
persons were again cleared. A few minutes later 20% were again blocked. My High Self indicates the main reason is that
14% do not do a thorough “prep to work” before starting to ask questions for themselves or another person. Even when
an SRT worker asks for “prep to work,” it does not always clear all blocks. Additional steps are required to make sure
that you are indeed clear and working with your High Self because it can take some time for the blocks to be cleared.
Blocks such as discarnates and separates can actually give you false answers, even indicating that you are working with
High Self when you are not.

Clearing blocks before prep to work

Every time I sit down to work I affirm, “The Father and I are ONE and we work as a team.” (Jesus called his High Self
the Father within.) (Intention is very important—simply saying the words “prep to work” is not enough. You must intend
to align with SPIRIT and be receptive to higher guidance.) The next thing I do is use Chart 4 (or any number chart) and
ask, “How long will it take to prep to work?” When the pendulum is moved way beyond 100, pointing down to the
right at about a 45 degree angle, they are indicating there are blocks and interference. I use Chart 3 to determine where
the blocks are. I approach Chart 3 from the side with the pendulum. If they point below the chart, the blocks can be
anything on Chart 5. I find blocks as far as eight inches below Chart 3. The ones at eight inches are dark angels. These
are beings who have partaken of the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil” in preparation to incarnate and then chose
not to incarnate. Thus, they have filled their consciousness with dark energies and have not entered the physical to learn.
They can be really nasty, but you clear and remove them the same way as any other block.

When the pendulum is moved to point above Chart 3, it is an indication there are higher level beings blocking. Simply

asked to have them cleared and removed. When the pendulum is moved to point to the
center of Chart 3, there are blocks both below and above the chart. Again, have them
clear and removed. Once High Self gives a “yes” to indicate all blocks are removed, ask
how many blocks remain. Zero should be indicated on Chart 4. Then, and only then, do
you ask for “prep to work.” If you don’t do this quick check, you may simply be
assuming that “prep to work” is complete, when in fact it is taking over a hundred hours!
Once prep to work has been done, ask who you are working with and High Self should
be indicated. Part of my prep to work is to clear and remove all extra beings serving as
High Self. Unfortunately, beings from Light Status on Chart 3 all the way to the New
Paradigm may serve as High Self. I request that High Self be at the New Paradigm or
beyond (there is nothing currently higher in consciousness than RADIANT LOVE/New
Paradigm, but there may be possibilities beyond). I also ask that the committee be of
minimum size, which is usually two beings and that they have downloaded and
assimilated all knowledge and understanding and that it is workable. I am now ready to
work for myself but not yet for the client.
I go through the same steps for the client. Should I not do that and just start to work, any
blocks that the client has can interfere with accurate answers. Some of the blocks and
interference can transfer from the client to me. Know that your High Self works with the
client’s High Self to access the necessary information for clearing the client’s Akashic
record. I call it a feed-back loop. If you do not check on your client’s High Self, you are
missing a vital part of the prep to work process. I always ask whose High Self I am
working with—the client’s or mine. “Mine” is indicated by the pendulum swinging
toward the upper left and the client’s High Self is indicated in the upper right. When
they point to the middle, they are indicating I am working with both (the desired
response). Sometimes I get a block while doing research and High Self is indicated. I ask
whose High Self it is, and they will point in the appropriate direction to indicate whether
it is mine or the client’s. The next question I ask, “Do they need to access and download
more information or do they need to be removed and replaced?” Sometimes a client’s
High Self wants to be relieved to fulfill other functions. If this is the case, I ask to have
them replaced with beings from the New Paradigm or beyond and check how many
beings are assigned—preferably two. Then I can proceed with the research and clearing.
Occasionally, someone will ask how many High Self committee members there are and
get a response of “0.” I found this week that this often means that the High Self
members have 0% access to the amount of wisdom, knowledge, light, and understanding
that is available at the highest levels of RADIANT LOVE. I ask that they be replaced
with beings that have 100% such access and have assimilated the information, and then
will usually get the desired response of two beings. Now, I check to make sure all High
Self committee members have 100% access and assimilation.
[Editor’s note: One way to help prevent blocking beings from giving false answers is to
have the agreement with High Self that you cannot get a clear “yes” answer if anything
or anyone except High Self is working with you. That way, if you get a hesitant or slight
sideways swing, you will also know to check on who you are working with.]

After the client’s basic research is accomplished, I have been getting a lot of circles Pamela Murray

up everything else.” The second is “Clear all charts 1-32 and beyond” (if we had all charts

possible, they would stack beyond the edge of the universe). Third, they point to Chart 4

and go in a circle on that chart, indicating to clear all programs on the chart and beyond.
Fourth, they point to Chart 6A and indicate by a circle to clear every discordant energy on Design and Layout
the chart and every discordant energy in the ONE universe. Sometimes they have pointed Leigh Bacharach
to Chart 6B and gone in a circle, indicting to clear all blocks to positive energy on the
chart and in the universe. Any of these programs can be extremely large. I ask that every Production
jot, tittle, paragraph and period be cleared, the books closed and burned and the ashes Spiritual Response
disposed of. Spirit says it is like clearing every drop of water in every lake, stream and Association
ocean; even the ice.
SRA Staff
I have cleared all of this and later—perhaps days later—the same programs come up to be
cleared again. While teaching a Spiritual Restructuring workshop on March 8, I found the Executive Director
reason for the multiple copies. Every universe has multiple parallel universes, and there Leigh Bacharach
can be as many as ten containing the same programs (the one we are living in plus nine
others). Now I am asking them to clear the five “circle” programs in all parallel universes. Information Control
I always ask how many parallel universes have been cleared and how many still need Manager/Operations
clearing. When I get all cleared and zero left to clear, I move on in the research and Coordinator
clearing process. Dark angels and other forms of blocks can be in all parallel universes. Diane Detzler
