Cultural Traditions Project

Dear Families:

We are studying the various cultural heritages and traditions within our community. Often,
cultural traditions accompany a holiday. Traditions often include music, clothing, food, and
celebrations specific to the culture. To better learn about each other, our world, and ourselves
each child will present about what his/her family does to celebrate a holiday.

Please help your child complete the attached graphic organizer (included). Your child should
write on the graphic organizer. In class, your child will be responsible for sharing the elements
of his/her cultural traditions the week of DATE according to the rubric (included). I highly
recommend helping your child practice what s/he will say during their presentation.

During your child’s presentation, s/he may should to share an artifact or example that
represents the cultural holiday. Examples could be traditional clothing, an activity from that
holiday, pictures or videos of the celebration, music from that celebration, etc.

ALL GRAPHIC ORGANIZERS ARE DUE ON YOUR CHILD’S PRESENTATION DAY! NO

EXCEPTIONS!

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Thank you for helping us in this meaningful learning activity,

TEACHER
