Why the economic costs of using ECDs is higher than the cost of eliminating some of the world’s most

dangerous epidemics?
Introduction
The beginning of the 21 st century was marked by a series of disturbing results of the impacts of endocrine
disrupting chemicals (EDCs). A joint committee was formed in the year 20002 to investigate the effects of
EDCs. It consisted of international research bodies such as The united nations environmental program
(UNEP) and the World Health Organization. Together they published an article on the effects of EDCs and
made recommendations of for countering the threats of EDCs. It is estimated that the economic costs of using
ECDs is higher than the cost of eliminating some of the world’s most dangerous epidemics such has Malaria
and Cholera.
Analysis
The healthcare Act was enacted into law so as to ensure that healthcare is not only available to everyone but
also in the best quality. Formulation of a universal healthcare policy has always been a challenge in the
country. The healthcare Act, however, has facilitated the creation of a nationwide plan by establishing a pool
of funds for financing public hospitals.
One of the contemporary concerns in the healthcare sector today is the rising cost of treatment. The trend has
been experienced over the last ten years despite the fact that the government is subsidizing the treatment and
supporting research activities. The cost of accessing quality healthcare in public hospitals is as costly as that
of the of the private hospitals ( Kwon, 2016) . On the other hand, insurance companies are raising their
premiums so as to mitigate risks that are associated with the rising costs. At the end of the day most people
are suffering and end up either using their savings or disposing their assets to get quality treatment.
Some studies show that poor leadership in the healthcare sector is to blame for the rising cost ( Windsor,
Ormerod, & Tyler, 2017 ) . There is so munch focus on treatment that leaders have forgotten the basic
principles of financial management in hospitals. Another factor that may be contributing to the rising costs in
the healthcare sector is the emergence of cartels such as pharmaceutical companies. Due to the realization of
the importance of their products, most of these companies are participating in price setting thereby
contributing directly to the rising treatment cost. In order to provide quality and affordable treatment, there is
need to conduct a forensic audit of all the stakeholders in this sector so as to establish the main source of the
problem.
When investigating the spread of vector-borne and Zoonotic diseases, epidemiologists have established that
these diseases are highly related to EDCs. Once the ecology of the causative pathogens is determined, it is
easier to control their spread and the harmful effects. The vectors are, in most cases, influenced by the human
behavior and the environmental conditions. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is currently applying the
following process in controlling the spread of these diseases ( Trasande et al. 2016). Vector-borne and
Zoonotic diseases usually have similar modes of transmission such as dirty water and similar hosts such as
humans. They spread quickly and, therefore, controlling them can be challenging during the advanced
stages.

One of the emerging trends in hospital management is group purchasing. This is where several healthcare
providers come together in an effort to boost their bargaining power when purchasing medicine and medical
equipment. While the practice is common in almost every industry, it has not been successfully applied in
healthcare. This use due to the fact that hospital managers have gone to the extent of using the formula to
justify their remuneration for doctors which constitutes price fixing. The formation of cartels in this industry
has increased the cost of treatment as doctors opt for private practice due to dissatisfaction. Healthcare should
The healthcare industry has significantly evolved over the year due to the rising need to take care of
emerging issues. Among the issues that have prompted the evolvement of healthcare are the profession is
technological changes, the emergence of new diseases, diminishing resources to take care of the increased
need for medical services and the rising global population among others. However, the world seems to
evolve much faster that the healthcare profession due to lack of innovation in leadership. For example, the
old leaders assume to work in a known environment and therefore had a fixed organizational plan. This
proved to be a challenge due to the global changes. At the same time, this leadership was characterized by
protocols and bureaucracies.
The healthcare industry is one of the most important sectors in our country since it affects all individuals
directly. Due to this effect, the government has come up with measures to regulate the use of EDCs so as to
ensure that all citizens benefit most in addition to getting the best medical attention. However, there remain
some problems that are yet to have a solution and whose effects have such a high cost. People do not have
the ability to identify the foods that are contaminated by EDCs and, therefore, end up incurring the high cost
of treatment after consuming them through foods.
The presence of blood in the stool indicates an irritating or rupture of the intestines. Vomiting, on the other
hand, is characterized by distress and anxiety. When a young child or an infant experiences these symptoms,
they are likely to be stressed. A child’s immunity is weak, and therefore it only takes a short time before they
are dehydrated.
Antiemetic therapy is applied depending on the degree of dehydrating of a patient. For instance, in the cases
of acute Emesis, there are two classes of medications that can be applied. The first category is corticosteroids
and the second category is serotonin receptor antagonists. The two agents are highly operative and have been
in use in the clinical field for a long time.

Sensitizing people to avoid EDCs and embrace healthy living to related diseases has not been as successful as
it was anticipated. Regulation from the government by either banning EDCs altogether or limiting advertising
of these products. Establishment of rehabilitation centers to help patients affected by the chemicals is one of
the ways of eliminating them in the society. There has been an increase in the number of people suffering
from chronic diseases, and therefore, there’s a need for people to take a more active role in the fight against
the EDCs. The research will be used to sensitize people to rise against these chemicals and urge them to
educate their children against it. The prevalence of this disease has been facilitated by the lack of adequate
awareness in the world. The disease is more common in developing countries than in developed countries.
