Cardiac Auscultation Findings

Clinical Pearls:
. All sicklers need cardiology F/U every 6 mo to 1 year to asses
ventricular function.
. Pulmonary veins cannot have regurges. They’re either
stenosed or displaced.
. Indications of giving PGE-1:
- Duct dependent diseases:
Right side Left side
. TGA . Coarc
. Pulmonary atresia . Critical aortic stenosis
. Truncus arteriosus . Interrupted aortic arch
. Critical pulmonary stenosis

. If a patient received PGE-1, intubate before transferring

to specialized center.
. ASD, PFO (no need for SBEP).
. VSD ( need for SBEP).

. Moderator bands are only present in the right ventricle.

Ebstein anomaly:
. Downward displacement of tricuspid valve (atrialization
= atrium<ventricle)
