Introductory Message!

Welcome to TLE 7/8 – AFA (Crop Production)!

The TLE 7/8 – AFA (Crop Production) Learning Activity Sheet is a product
of the collaborative efforts of the Schools Division of Himamaylan City and DepEd
Regional Office VI - Western Visayas through the Curriculum and Learning
Management Division (CLMD). This is developed to guide the learning facilitators
(teachers, parents and responsible adults) in helping the learners meet the
standards set by the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.

The TLE 7/8 – AFA (Crop Production) Learning Activity Sheet is self-
directed instructional materials aimed to guide the learners in accomplishing
activities at their own pace and time using the contextualized resources in the
community. This will also assist the learners in acquiring the lifelong learning skills,
knowledge and attitudes for productivity and employment.

For learning facilitator:

The TLE 7/8 – AFA (Crop Production) Activity Sheet will help you facilitate
the leaching-learning activities specified in each Most Essential Learning
Competency (MELC) with minimal or no face-to-face encounter between you and
learner. This will be made available to the learners with the references/links to ease
the independent learning.

For the learner:

The TLE 7/8 – AFA (Crop Production) Activity Sheet is developed to help
you continue learning even if you are not in school. This learning material provides
you with meaningful and engaging activities for independent learning. Being an
active learner carefully read and understands the instructions then perform the
activities and answer the assessments. This will be returned to your facilitator on the
agreed schedule.

TLE 7/8 – AFA (CROP PRODUCTION) ACTIVITY SHEET

Determining Areas of Concern for Safety Measures

I. Learning Competency with Code

After going through this learning activity sheet, you should be able to:
1. Identify work tasks in line with farm operations
2. Determine place for safety measures in line with farm operations
3. Determine time for safety measures in line with farm operations
4. Prepare appropriate tools, materials, and outfits in line with job
requirements

II. Background Information for Learners

Farming is considered as one of the most hazardous and dangerous

occupations in our country. Farmers are exposed to difficult situations and at
very high risk of non-fatal and fatal injuries.
Accident is unpredictable that occurred when least expected to
happen. Among potentially life-threatening farm hazards are farm machinery
and equipment, agricultural chemicals, toxic gases and sharp cutting edges
of farm tools.
As a young agriculturist, always keep in mind that safety is foremost in
doing any job. Safety can be implemented by determining the task to
perform especially those farm tasks that involve health and physical hazard.
Remember, life is precious and body parts are irreplaceable, you are in
control if you want to be intact after accomplishing the hard and tiring tasks
in the farm. Your safety is important, and the key to safety is in your hands,
as it says, “Safety is the engine, and you are the key that starts it”.
