RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter presents the discussion of the findings of this study. It discusses

the socio-demographic profile of residents of Trece Martires City, Cavite

Table 1 reveals the distribution of the residents residing in the different barangays of

Trece Martires City as to their ages.

The population of the participants has a diverse age range. A total of 40 or

19.05% belongs to 18 to 23 years old; 36 or 17.14% belongs to 24 to 29 years old; 24 or

11.43% belongs to 66 to 71 years old; 21 or 10.00% belongs to 72 to 77 years old; 17 or

8.10% each for 30 to 35 years old and 60 to 65 years old; 16 or 7.62% for 42 to 47 years

old; 15 or 7.14% for 36 ro 41 years old; 11 or 5.24% for 48 to 53 years old; and 7 or

3.33% for 78 to 83 years old. Lastly, 6 or 2.86% belongs to 54 to 59 years old.

The result have shown that the population of the residents residing in the different

barangays of Trece Martires City are composed of youth, young adult, and even adult

people.

Table 2 reveals the sex of the residents residing in the different barangays of Trece

Martires City.

As seen in the result, most of them are females with a frequency of 147 or

70.00%, while the males are 63 or 30.00%.

This implies that the population of female residents residing in the different

barangays of Trece Martires City is much larger than the male population.

Table 3 reveals the marital status of the residents residing in the different barangays

of Trece Martires City.

As seen in the result, most of the entire population are already married with a

frequency of 91 or 43.33%, while 76 or 36.19% belongs to the population of single

residents. Meanwhile, 36 or 17.14% of the population are already widowed. Lastly, 7

or 3.33% of the population are separated.

This implies that most of the residents residing in the different barangays of

Trece Martires City are already married and have their own family.

Table 4 reveals the distribution of the residents residing in the different barangays of

Trece Martires City as to their residency or barangay where they live in.

The table have shown that the number of participants from each chosen

barangay should be based on the sampling technique used, and should be equal per

barangay.

Table 5 reveals the highest educational attainment of the residents residing in the

different barangays of Trece Martires City.

As seen in the result, most of them attained junior high school level with a

frequency of 42 or 20.00%; while the least of the population belongs to college

graduate with a frequency of 3 or 1.43% only.


This means that most of the residents residing in the different barangays of

Trece Martires City are not degree holder.

Table 6 reveals the employment status where the residents residing in the different

barangays of Trece Martires City belong.

As seen in the result, more than half of the participants with a frequency of

121 or 57.62% have no work; while 41 or 19.52% are part-timers in their job; and 40

or 19.05% are full time workers. Lastly, 8 or 3.81% of the participants casual worker.

Table 7 reveals the sector where the residents residing in the different barangays of

Trece Martires City belong.

As seen in the result, each sector has the same number of participants with a

frequency of 70 or 33.33% from 4PS, Out of School Youth, and Senior Citizen,

respectively.

Table 8 reveals the number of family members of the residents residing in the

different barangays of Trece Martires City.

As seen in the result, more than half of the population has 5 to 7 family

members with a frequency of 120 or 57.14%, followed by those who has 2 to 4 family

members with a frequency of 56 or 26.67%; and those who has 8 to 10 members

with a frequency of 29 or 13.81%. Lastly, those who has 11 and above family

members with a frequency of only 5 or 2.38%.

This implies that the most number of participants have 5 to 7 family members;

and only few belongs to bigger family with 11 and above members.

Table 9 presents the distribution of of the participants as to their household monthly

income.

As seen in the result, most of them are earning 4,001 to 8,000 pesos monthly

,with a frequency of 75 or 35.71%; followed by those who are earning 12,001 pesos

and above with a frequency of 45 or 21.43%; those who are earning 8,001 to 12,000

pesos with a frequency of 41 or 19.52%; and those who are earning 1,001 to 4,000

pesos monthly with a frequency of 35 or 16.67%. Lastly, those who are earning 1,000

pesos and below with a frequency of 14 or 6.67%.

This implies that most of the participants are earning 4,001 to 8,000 pesos

monthly, while the least number of participants belong to those who are only earning

1,000 pesos and below.

Table 10 shows the distribution of the participants as to type of their shelter structure.

It reveals that most of the participants with a frequency of 203 or 96.67%

have a shelter made of stone; while only 7 or 3.33% have a wood type of shelter.
This implies that most of the participants' shelter structure are now

modernized and built from stone.

Table 11 reveals the distribution of the participants as to years of staying in the

barangay.

As seen in the result, most of them are leaving in the barangay for 21 years

and above ,with a frequency of 54 or 25.71%; followed by those who are living for 6

to 10 years with a frequency of 47 or 22.38%; those who are living for 11 to 15 years

with a frequency of 46 or 21.90%; and those who are living for 16 to 20 years with a

frequency of 33 or 15.71%. Lastly, those who are living for 1 to 5 years in the

barangay with a frequency of 30 or 14.29%.

Table 12 shows the distribution of the participants as tohousing status.


It reveals that most of the participants with a frequency of 167 or 79.52%

have their own house; while 31 or 14.76% are just renting their house. Lastly, only 12

or 5.71% are caretakers of the house where they live.

This implies that most of the participants have their own houses.
