𝐹. Show that 𝑉 is a vector space over the field 𝐹with respect to the following operations: (i) (𝑓 +
𝑔)(𝑠) = 𝑓(𝑠) + 𝑔(𝑠) and (ii) (𝑐𝑓)(𝑠) = 𝑐𝑓 (𝑠).

11. Let 𝐹 be a subfield of the field 𝐶 of complex numbers. Find the subspace 𝑊 of 𝐹 5 spanned by
(1,2,0,3,0), (0,0,1,4,0), (0,0,0,0,1) . Show that (−3, −6,1, −5, −2) is in 𝑊, whereas(2,4,6,7,8) is not in
𝑊.

12. Examine whether the following set of vectors in 𝑉3 (𝑅) forms a basis or not: (i)
(1,0,0), (0,1,0), (0,0,1) (ii) (1,1,2), (1,2,5), (5,3,4) (iii) (1,2,1), (2,1,0), (1, −1,2).

13. Verify the Linearly Independent of the vectors {(1,0) , (0, 1)} over Real Field.

14. Examine whether the following set of vectors in 𝑉3 (𝑅) forms a basis or not:
(1,2,1), (2,1,0), (1, −1,2).

15. In𝐹 𝑛 , Verify the set of 𝑛 −tuples (𝑥1 , 𝑥2 , … , 𝑥𝑛 ) with 𝑥1 = 1 + 𝑥2 is a subspace.
