Community Pantry

In Pasig City, a group of women went viral on account of

presumed abuse of community pantry. The community pantry of barangay
Kapitolyo is newly constructed and was full of food necessities. The community
pantry has a simple and noble purpose. It is a venue for people to share food and
other essential items with the less fortunate. In community pantries, people can
leave items they can spare while others can pick up items that they need. After
two hours, some of the residents emptied the table full of food after getting
caught on cam by a concerned citizen. Carla Quiogue, the one who built the
community pantry in barangay Kapitolyo and who uploaded the CCTV footage
was also in shock at what they have done. In the viral video, a group of women
was captured greedily getting all the food from the community pantry especially
to the woman who carried away two trays of eggs. Their action made most of the
netizens who watched the video mad and annoyed. In their defense, they did that
not only for their needs but also gave some to their neighbors. They also went out
to the show of Raffy Tulfo where they ask for help to clean their name and ask for
forgiveness.
Their actions are worth more than their absolution. They
may be struggling in today's situation that makes them lack consideration for
others. In other terms, they are called selfish. Stingy people are ungenerous. Even
if they are having a hard time, they must not take advantage of scraping all the
items available from the community pantry. Their convenience is all that matters.
People like them should not be imitated and tolerated by anyone. Take action
when noticing someone being greedy. Help them understand that more people
are jobless and considered the poorest of the poor who needed more help and
attention. Be a better and considerate citizen to all fellow citizens.
