FAQs – Exams at Designated Centres

Question: What are the key points of the examination process at designated exam centres?

a. Students will take the exams on the computer systems provided at the exam centres. They should carry a mobile phone
b. Student will take the exams through pre-installed Exam Browser on the computer systems at the centres
c. The default method of inputting answers is by typing in the textbox below each question. In select courses students will
be allowed to scan and upload hand-written answers within a specific time period using their own mobile phone.
d. For courses / questions where upload is permitted, blank answer-sheets will be provided at the exam centres
e. Students should carry sufficient stationary items with them. Pen / Pencil etc will not be provided at the exam centre
f. The proctor(s) in the examinational hall will be the point of contact in case a student faces any issue during exams
g. Students must switch off all their electronic devices during the exam.

Question: Should I carry my mobile phone to the designated exam centre?


Mobile phones are required to scan and upload answers in select courses. While students can carry their phones to the
exam centre, they should not use it except for scanning and uploading activity permitted during a specific time period.

Question: Will cloak rooms be provided at the designated exam centres?


Yes. However, you are advised not to carry any valuables like jewelry, cash, gadgets etc. Bags / purse / wallet etc will not
be allowed inside exam hall and should be deposited before starting the exam.

Question: Am I required to bring my Laptop to the designated exam centres?

No. The IT infrastructure required to take the exams will be provided at the exam centres. However, you are required to
bring a mobile phone capable of scanning & uploading activities in select courses when permitted.

Question: What are the valid ID proofs that I can present to the proctor at the exam hall?

It is mandatory to show a valid Exam Hall Ticket (printed copy only) for verification purposes at the exam centre.
Additionally, you must also carry any government issued original ID card like Aadhaar, PAN, Driving License, Passport etc.
Entry inside the examination hall will be given only after verification of Hall Ticket & ID Card.

FAQs – Exams at Designated Centres

Question: What is the reporting time at the designated exam centres?


You must report at the exam centre atleast 45-minutes prior to the commencement of the exam.

Question: Will I be allowed to take the exam if I report late at the exam centre?
Students will not be allowed inside the exam hall after the start of the examination.

Question: How will I identify my exam hall / room at the exam centre?
Course-codes will be displayed on the notice board with room-numbers at the centre. You can also reach out to the
invigilation staff.

Question: Can I carry hand sanitizer and mask inside the examination hall?
You are permitted to carry hand sanitizer and mask inside the exam hall. However, for identification purposes the centre
staff and invigilators may ask you to remove the mask.

Question: Are soft copies of notes or e-books allowed during the exams at the designated exam centres?
Mid Semester (EC2) exams will be closed book and no reference material will be permitted during the exams.
Comprehensive (EC3) exams will be open book and students can only use hard copies of notes and books. Soft copies of
reference material or e-books will not be allowed at exam centres.

Question: Should I submit my written answer-scripts at the exam centre?


Students are required to upload their answer scripts and then submit them to the proctor / invigilator before leaving the
exam centre.

Question: Can I leave the exam centre early if I submit my exam before the scheduled end time of the exam?
Students will not be allowed to leave the exam centre before the scheduled end time of the exam.

Question: Who would be the point-of-contact in the exam centre?


At designated exam centres you can reach our the exam invigilator present in the exam hall if you are facing any issues
pertaining to your exams.
