1 INSTALLATION

This chapter includes the installation process and initial setup process of the SC200
system.
Note: this chapter is mainly for technicians, and users are not allowed to adjust or change
it at will. If you need to change any settings, please contact your dealer.

1.1 Mounting Considerations

1.1.1 Antenna Unit

It is recommended to install the antenna above the compass deck to obtain an
unobstructed view of the satellites regardless of vessel heading. If it is not possible to
mount the antenna above the compass deck, please observe the guidelines as
follows.Select the appropriate installation location according to the length of the cable.
⚫ The antenna should be at least 3m away from the Inmarsat /FB antenna
⚫ Antennas should be at least 1 meter above deck/floor.
⚫ The antenna should be more than 1 meter away from the magnetic object.
⚫ The antenna should be placed away from the radar or above the radar antenna to
avoid interference.
⚫ The distance between the antenna and the mast should be in accordance with the
requirements in the table below

Separation distance
Mast Diameter
(min)

30cm 1.5m

15cm 1m

5
1.1.2 Display Unit
Since the equipment uses many sophisticated electronic components, the installation
site should meet the following requirements:
⚫ Should be installed in places with low humidity
⚫ Easy place to operate
⚫ Easy to install and repair
⚫ Not directly exposed to the sea or wind
⚫ Not directly exposed to the sun

1.2 Install Antenna Unit

Firstly, screw the 70cm Fix the support frame on the selected

antenna support frame into the column with hoops. Before it is completely

antenna. fixed, the antenna should be pointed in line

with the bow.

7
1.3 Install Display Unit

SC2001 display unit supports desktop installation, top-mounted installation, and

embedded installation.

1.3.1 Desktop/Top Mounted Installation

① Use five self-tapping screws (M4×19mm) to fix the bracket in the installation position.

② Connect the cable to the terminal. Please refer to the manual for the specific interface

③ Place the terminal on the bracket, screw in the quincunx knob, adjust the appropriate

angle, and then tighten the knob.

Refer to the appendix at the end of this manual for installation dimensions and required
clearance.

1.3.2 Embedded Installation

① Remove the embedded mounting plate (not available

in standard products, please contact the company if

necessary). For the size of the embedded mounting plate,
please refer to the appendix at the end of this manual.

② Four M2.5 × 7 screws are used to fix the embedded

mounting plate and display unit together.

8
③ According to the size shown in the figure below, open holes on the table to be

installed.

Connect the cable to the terminal.

Put the display unit into the open hole and fix it with four M4 × 20 self-tapping screws.

9
2 INTERFACE AND CONNECTION

The aviation plug of the antenna is inserted into the "ANTENNA" interface. One end of the
power cord with aviation plug is connected to the "POWER" interface, the other end is
connected to the DC power supply (DC9-36V), the blue line (Black Line) is connected to
the negative pole, and the red line is connected to the positive pole. After the plug is
connected, please tighten the fixing ring to prevent it from falling off.

"DATA1" and "DATA2" interfaces support data output to other devices, and support IEC
61162 protocols. For connection, please refer to the interface described in the figure
below.
