Backup and Recovery
Overview
Application data backup and recovery provides the backup and recovery of application
data. Through the created tasks, the UME system administrator can back up and
recover application data for the UME system. If no backup or recovery is implemented,
data may be lost. Thus, data backup and recovery can improve the UME system
reliability.
Prerequisite
Backup
Backup refers to the process in which data is packaged and stored into the specified
directory in accordance with the requirement of the UME system administrator. The data
backed up can be used for recovery when the UME system data is lost or damaged.
Backup files are stored in .zip format.
The application data that can be backed up includes basic data and big data. All basic
data is backed up together, while the big data of each type is backed up separately.
Basic data Configuration data, task data, security data, topology data, user data, resource
data, and plug-in package data.
Big data Log data, model data, result data, alarm data, and training data.
Application data can be backed up in two modes: manual backup and automatic backup.
Manual backup: The basic data and big data is backed up immediately and manually.
Automatic backup: The basic data and big data is backed up periodically at the time
set by the UME administrator.
Recovery
Recovery refers to the process of recovering damaged or lost data to the normal status
as required.
Application data recovery is the process of recovering basic data and big data to the
backup status. All basic data is recovered at the same time, and all types of big data are
recovered separately.
Notice
The recovery process is non-reversible. You must perform the application data recovery
with caution.
This procedure describes how to set the task execution time, task timeout time, and
server information involved in the application data backup and recovery procedures.
Prerequisite
You have obtained the information about the server where the application data is stored,
including the protocols, IP addresses, ports, and the username and password.
Steps
1. On the BR page, click Data Backup And Recovery > Backup Option. The Backup
Option page is displayed.
2. Set backup parameters, see Figure2-1 and Figure2-2.
