In the spirit of the season, the United Future Planners (UFP) would like to express its gratitude for your
continued support in our endeavours to revive and celebrate Christmas, with its deep-rooted traditions and
customs that provide us with a unique opportunity to reconnect with our cultural roots and strengthen the
bonds that tie us together as a community.
In recent times, we have realized the profound impact of Western civilization on the fabric of our traditions.
Yes, we appreciate the diversity that global interactions bring to our country (Sierra Leone), but we also
need to recognize the importance of preserving the unique elements that make our culture rich and
meaningful.
Our cultural heritage, which we have enjoyed for generations, has faced challenges and transformations in
the wake of external influences (western culture). We must acknowledge these changes and work towards
preserving the elements that make our culture unique and vibrant through initiatives and events, such as
the upcoming Christmas celebration. UFP Family aspires to create spaces where our traditions can flourish
and our Loko and Temne cultural identity can be seen again.
It is against this backdrop that the UFP Family identifies you as a Patron Invitee to witness this year’s
Christmas celebration in Gbendembu, where lots of cultural play will be displayed within the township.
There is no doubt that we identify you as a distinguish Patron Guest, this is because we acknowledge that
your support has been instrumental in enabling us to organize events that promote our objectives as a club.
As we come together to celebrate this Christmas, let us not only cherish the festive spirit but also renew our
commitment to preserving the beauty of our traditions. Together, we can ensure that the threads of our
