INTRODUCTION
Our project, titled "Eco-Friendly Floor Wax from Banana Peels and Glue from Kamoteng kahoy
Extract," aims to explore sustainable alternatives to conventional floor wax and glue. With an
imperative. The idea of utilizing readily available resources like banana peels and kamoteng
kahoy extract aligns with the global push towards sustainable practices. This introduction sets the
stage for an investigation into the feasibility and effectiveness of creating floor wax and glue
Traditional floor waxes and glues often contain chemicals that pose environmental hazards
during production and disposal. Our investigation is motivated by the need for alternatives that
reduce environmental impact. Banana peels, rich in compounds like cellulose and starch, offer a
potential material for floor wax. Similarly, kamoteng kahoy (Cassava) extract, known for its
adhesive properties, can be explored as a natural glue. Understanding the current state of floor
waxes and glues and their environmental implications provides context for the significance of
our study.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
● Assess the cost-effectiveness of producing floor wax and glue from banana peels and
● Provide practical insights into the feasibility of scaling up production for potential real-
world applications.
This project holds significance on multiple fronts. Firstly, it addresses the growing demand for
environmentally friendly products by offering alternatives to conventional floor waxes and glues.
Secondly, it promotes the use of locally sourced and abundant materials, potentially reducing
production costs and environmental footprint. Thirdly, the success of this study could inspire
household products. Ultimately, the project contributes to both scientific knowledge and
● Teachers. This project serves as a valuable teaching tool, allowing teachers to illustrate
scientific principles in a tangible and engaging way. It can also be used to promote
● Schools. If produced on a larger scale, these eco-friendly products could be used within
the school, potentially saving costs on cleaning supplies and promoting a greener
environment.
● Parents. This project can be a great way for parents to engage with their children's
home.
● Local Community. If these products prove to be effective and are produced on a larger
Eco-friendly - Short for ecologically friendly, pertains to practices, products, or lifestyles that
minimize harm to the environment. This term encompasses efforts to reduce carbon footprints,
conserve resources, and promote sustainability. Eco-friendly initiatives often focus on using
renewable energy, recycling, and adopting practices that contribute positively to ecological
balance. Choosing eco-friendly options supports a healthier planet and sustainable living for
future generations.
Banana peel - Is the protective outer covering of a banana fruit. Comprising both an outer skin
and an inner layer, banana peels are typically discarded after the banana is consumed. However,
they possess valuable nutrients like potassium, dietary fiber, and antioxidants. Some creative and
eco-conscious individuals find alternative uses for banana peels, such as composting, natural
Kamoteng Kahoy - The Filipino term for cassava, refers to a starchy root vegetable widely
consumed in many countries. Cassava is a versatile crop known for its resilience in diverse
climates. Rich in carbohydrates, cassava is a staple food for millions of people. Beyond its
culinary uses, cassava has industrial applications, such as in the production of tapioca and
bioethanol. Despite its importance, the crop faces challenges, including susceptibility to pests
and diseases, highlighting the need for sustainable farming practices to ensure its long-term

PROCEDURE
1. Prepare all the materials: Coconut Oil, Candle, and Banana Peel.
3. Open the gas stove in a low heat, put a medium mixing pot with a little water and put the
slice candle, boil the candle and wait until it gets melted.
4. Remove the mixing pot in the gas stove and place it in an open area to avoid burning.
After that, put the Coconut Oil in the mixing pot together with the melted candle. Open
5. Put the sliced banana peels in the pot with melted candle and Coconut Oil. Mixed them
every 5 minutes.
6. After 15 minutes, get some handkerchief or fabric cloth and put it in the container that
will use, start to put the mixed ingredients in the handkerchief and squeeze it. Wait until
it became firm
7. Put it in the topperwear, flatten the floorwax, and wait until it dry.
5. Boil it in a pot.
In conclusion, our investigation into developing eco-friendly floor wax from banana peels and
glue from kamote extract reveals promising potential for sustainable alternatives to traditional
products. The utilization of locally available resources not only contributes to environmental
conservation but also explores the practicality of implementing such solutions on a larger scale.
The outcomes of this study provide valuable insights into the feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and
performance of these eco-friendly alternatives, offering a step forward in the journey towards
