The cylinders are arranged in V-shape. The compressor is driven by a V-belt with autonatical tension via a magnetic clutch, which regulates engagement or disengagement of the compressor according to the capacity requirements. Important: The chiorine-free refrigerant R134a is used for charging the air conditioner. The traditional refrigerant R12 is replaced by R134a. Air conditioners already charged with R12 should not be recharged nor newly charged with R134a. This is also valid for components used with R12. They should not at all be used in units to be charged with R134a. Mineral oils used in units with R12 must not be used in units with R134a. In this case synthetic oils (Ester-oil) are to be used. The application of mineral oils in connection with R134a would cause a break down of the compressor, as the miscibility of mineral oil and R134a and, thus the refrigerant circuit, are not ensured. 2. High- and low pressure switch High- and low pressure switch is situated at the compressor (in the engine compart-ment). low pressure switch high pressure switch (@svn0001) Low pressure switch If the pressure in the cooling circuit is blow 0,1 bar, the magnetic clutch is cut-off by the low pressure switch autornatically. If pressure exceeds 2,2 bar, magnetic clutch is switched on. High pressure switch If pressure in the cooling circuit exceeds 25,5 bar, magnetic clutch is switched off by the high pressure switch. If pressure exceeds 18 bar, magnetic clutch is switched on. If magnetic clutch is switched off due to high- or low pressure, see “Trouble check list and repair", 3.1 Pressure control condenser fans When switching on the a/c unit, the rotational speed of the condenser blowers increases continuously from 0 to max. 100% by means of starting modulus. Ifthe pressure in the cooling circuit increases to more than 17bar, the condenser blower will operate with the maximum speed. If the pressure decreases to less than 12bar, the rotational speed of the condenser blowers is reduced to 50% by means of a pressure switch. Servicing 5.1 Return air grid Clean the return air grid in the passenger area (in the rear of the vehicle on both sides behind the service flaps) 2-3 times per travelling season. 5.2 Condenser coil Clean the condenser twice a year. Remove the cover of the condenser. Blow through the condenser coils with compressed air. Clean the condenser area and the condensed water drainages. 5.3 Sight glass Sight glass is situated in the rear condenser part below the condenser cover. (eazwv0003) 5.4 Check refrigerant level Switch on unit air conditioning. Sight glass clear: refrigeration level all right If air bubbles are formed: consult customer service agency. IDE KLC7152A Stand: 07/97 Seite: 6 OREKONVEKTA’ 5.5 Refrigerant receiver Due to an operational overpressure in the receiver, its manufacture is subject to a special prescription (pressure tank decree from April 1989). By this decree the pressure tanks subdivided in test groups: admitted operational overpressure in bar "p", volume in liters pressure tank contents "p x I". On these conditions the refrigerant receiver is to be qualified in test group II. Attention: § 10 of the decree for pressure tanks says that a periodical test by an expert (§32) has to. be executed. Those tests refer to an outside checking of the tanks in operation. The refrigeration receiver has to be checked for outside damages twice a year (s. our general conditions for sale and delivery under 8b). Especial attention should be paid to corrosion and mechanical damages. If it is anyhow damaged it must be changed by reason of safety. ID# KLC71524, Stand: 07/97 Seite: 7 KONVEKTA) 6. Regulation of damages during the warranty period According to our general conditions of sale and delivery we replace defective parts. Labour costs, however, for the exchange of defective parts are not compensated If damages should occur to your KONVEKTA air conditioner, refrigeration or deepfreezing unit during the warranty time please proceed as follows: Please go to an authorized KONVEKTA -customer service station and point out that the damage in question has to be repaired on warranty. - Please present your warranty documents - If the required parts should not be available at the service station they will be supplied immediately by KONVEKTA. After termination of the repair works a warranty report has to be made together with the service station. Please point out that the service station has to send this report together with the defective parts immediately to us. Apart from our warranty regulations and without recognition of any legal obligation we are prepared to take over according to our judgement costs for dismounting and reinstallation in correspondance with our warranty time table. Assumption therefore is that these works are made by us or by an authorized KONVEKTA -service station. We cannot take over the costs if the repair works have been carried through on your account and if the procedure described above has not been observed. The dispatch of the replacement parts - free of charge - is made subject to our verification of the defective parts later on. If this inspection shows that the damages are due to improper handling we reserve ourselves the right to send you our invoice for the costs that have arisen. ‘Assumption for the validity of evt. warranty claims is that the complete proof of all prescribed inspections and service works which have to be registered in the warranty card, IH: KLC7 1524, Stand: 07/97 Seite: 9 20-10-18 i 1379S1L9-1y 86°20 SID.
