En esta lección aprenderemos el verbo LIKE que significa GUSTAR. PUEDE IR CON UN
SUSTANTIVO o UN VERBO y en este caso se deberá usar el verbo CON TO.
A Juan le gusta el coche. Juan likes the car. A ti te gusta México. You like Mexico.
A mí me gusta trabajar. I like to work A ella le gusta leer. She likes to read.
También aprenderemos el uso del auxiliar CAN que nos da la traducción de PODER y
siempre va acompañado de un verbo simple.
Él puede estudiar. He can study. Él no puede estudiar. He can’t study.

En este ejemplo se usó el auxiliar de la tercera persona del singular que es DOES y
DOESN’T. Importante recordar que cuando se use este auxiliar, el verbo recupera su
forma simple.

En esta lección veremos el verbo HAVE que se usa con la idea de POSEER o TENER ALGO:
Yo tengo un libro. I have a book. Él tiene una casa nueva. He has a new house.
Pero también se usa para expresar una NECESIDAD con la traducción de TENER QUE
Tú tienes que trabajar. You HAVE TO WORK.
Él tiene que escribir. He HAS TO WRITE.
Recuerda la regla: ENTRE DOS VERBOS SE USA TO.

WAS-WERE son las formas en pasado del verbo BE y equivalen en la traducción a ERA,

LA CONJUGACIÓN CON LOS PRONOMBRES ES ASÍ:
I was very happy. Yo fui muy feliz. We were with Juan. Estábamos con Juan.
He was my friend. Él era mi amigo. They were here. Ellos estaban aquí.
She was here. Ella estuvo en aquí. You were young. Tú eras joven.
It was new. Era nueva. Observa en esta oración

ÍBAMOS A HACER. Para este tiempo se usa:

Ella iba a terminar temprano. She was going to finish early.
Ella no iba a terminar temprano. She wasn’t going to finish early.
¿Ella iba a terminar temprano? Was she going to finish early?
TIEMPO PASADO SIMPLE: Se refiere a las acciones que YA HICIMOS
En inglés existen dos tipos de verbos en pasado:
Verbos REGULARES: Solamente se le agrega la terminación ED al infinitivo o
únicamente la D si es que ya terminaba en E.
Work, worked wash, washed open, opened want, wanted
Live, lived like, liked love, loved use, used
Verbos IRREGULARES: Cambian su estructura comparados con el presente o en
algunas ocasiones quedan igual al presente y en otras se escriben igual, pero se pronuncian
diferente – bring, BROUGHT – put, PUT – read, READ [red]
Ella TRAE el dinero. She BRINGS the money.
Ella TRAJO el dinero. She BROUGHT the money.

Para la pronunciación, vamos a agregar el sonido de una T o una D, lo que se facilite más,

Observa que solamente en la oración AFIRMATIVA se usa el verbo en forma de PASADO.
