21-DAY PRAYER AND FASTING, 2024.

EXHORTATION LINES
Evening Week 1 (Monday 8 – Saturday 13, January 2024)
Introduction
 From scriptures, we understand that the house of God is ordained a house of prayer
– Mak. 11:17
Mark 11:17
17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be

called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of
thieves.

 In the same vein, every child of God is ordained ‘a prayer house’ because we are
God’s building, we are the temple of the Holy Ghost – 1Cor. 6:19/ 1Cor. 3:9
1 Cor 6:19
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost

which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 Cor 3:9
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are

God's building.

 But praying kingdom advancement prayer is the God set priority for our prayer life –
Mat. 6:9-10
Matt 6:9-10
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as
it is in heaven.

– Psa. 105:42/ Gen. 18:20-33/ Gen. 24:1
Ps 105:42
42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

Gen 18:20-33 [ABRIDGED]

20
And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because
their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done
altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. 22
And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham
stood yet before the LORD. 23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy
the righteous with the wicked? 24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city:
wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?
25
That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked:
and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the
Judge of all the earth do right? 26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous
within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
VS:32-33
32
And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once:
Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.
33
And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and
Abraham returned unto his place.
Gen 24:1
And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in
all things.

 But What Are We to Pray? We must continue to pray for ever increasing church growth
– Ezk. 36:37
Ezek 36:37
37 Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do

it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

 The labour room of prayer is the birthplace of supernatural church growth – Isa. 66:7-8/ Act 6:4/7
Isa 66:7-8
7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a

man child. 8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth
be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as
Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Acts 6:4/7
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. 7

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in
Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

 Turning many to righteousness through prayer among others, will make a star of any believer –
Dan. 12:3
Dan 12:3
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that

turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Dan 6:20

king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom
thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
Dan 6:10
10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his

windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees
three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
 But what are we to pray? We must continue to pray for souls to be saved across our harvest field
– Jhn 16:7-11/ 1 Tim. 2:4
John 16:7-11
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not

away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of
judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to
my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is
judged.
1 Tim 2:4
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

 We must put up a fight of faith to disarm the enemy of their souls and release his captives for
salvation – Luk. 11:21-22/ Isa. 49:24-26
Luke 11:21-22
21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: 22 But when a

stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his
armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
Isa 49:24-26
24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? 25 But thus

saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of
the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee,
and I will save thy children. 26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own
flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all
flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of
Jacob.
 Doing what God commands at all times will continue to change our levels supernaturally
– Luk. 19:15-19/ 1 Cor. 3:18
Luke 19:15-19
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then

he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the
money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16 Then came
the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. 17 And he said unto him,
Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou
authority over ten cities. 18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained
five pounds. 19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
2 Cor 3:18
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed

into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

God,
Gal 4:19
19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

But what are we to pray?

1. We must continue to pray for fresh revelation from our pulpit – Psa. 68:11
Ps 68:11
11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

 Increase of the word will always lead to supernatural church growth – Mat. 24:28/ Acts 6:7
Matt 24:28
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Acts 6:7
7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in

Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

 But it takes prayer and intercession to command increasing revelation – 2Thes. 3:1/ Eph. 6:19
2 Thess 3:1
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be
glorified, even as it is with you:
Eph 6:19
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly,

to make known the mystery of the gospel,

2. We must continue to pray for all our new converts and new members to be established in this
church for life – Jhn 15:16
John 15:16
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go

and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask
of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

 When we pray for new converts, we shut the door against the manipulation of the devil
targeted at drawing them back from the faith – Luk. 11:24-26/ Gal. 4:19/ Col. 4:12
Luke 11:24-26
24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places,

seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came
out. 25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. 26 Then goeth he, and
taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and
dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Gal 4:19
19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Col 4:12
12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring

fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of
God.
 Remember, God who sees our labour of prayer in secret is committed to reward us openly
– Mat. 6:6/7-8
Matt 6:6-8
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door,

pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward
thee openly. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they
think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto
them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

 Seeking first the advancement of kingdom of God endears us to God for favour – Psa. 102:13-15/
Mat. 6:33
Ps 102:13-15
13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set

time, is come. 14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust
thereof. 15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the
earth thy glory.
Matt 6:33
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things

shall be added unto you.

my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him. 22 The enemy shall
not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. 23 And I will beat down his
foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. 24 But my faithfulness and my
mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

the restoration of the glory of Jerusalem – Neh. 1:4-11/ Neh. 2:1-10
Neh 1:1-11 [ABRIDGED]
4
And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned
certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, 5 And said, I beseech thee, O
LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them
that love him and observe his commandments: 6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine
eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now,
day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of
Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.
VS:11
11
O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to
the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy
servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's
cupbearer.
Neh 2:1-8
And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that
wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been
beforetime sad in his presence. 2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance
sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore
afraid, 3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance
be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof
are consumed with fire? 4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I
prayed to the God of heaven. 5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy
servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the
city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it. 6 And the king said unto me, (the queen
also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it
pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. 7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please
the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me
over till I come into Judah; 8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he
may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the
house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king
granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.

John 21:15-17
15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me

more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto
him, Feed my lambs. 16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest
thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him,
Feed my sheep. 17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me?
Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said
unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him,
Feed my sheep.
Song 8:7

the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

17 Pray without ceasing.
