explication of aurora phenomenon

General Statement
An aurora (Latin word mean “sunrise”) is
natural light display in the sky in the poles (north and
south) caused by the collision of energetic charged
particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere. In the
northern latitude, the effect is known as aurora
borealis (aurora : the goddess dawn, borealis: north wind).
While in the Antarctic region, the effect is known as aurora
australis. They illuminate the northern and southern
horizon as greenish glow or sometimes faint red, occasionally blue but most often in
fluorescent green. Auroras can be seen at night because their light is not as strong as the light
of the day.

Explanation
The aurora phenomenon occurs when the solar wind is produced by our Sun. Solar
wind is a stream of electrons and protons which are released from the sun due to the high
kinetic energy. These particles are charged and contain energy, which means they contribute
to electricity. In other way, our planet is surrounded by a super-sized magnetic sheath, which
is usually called the Magnetic Field of the Earth. The Earth sometimes is being hit by solar
wind. Some of these charged particles lead to the poles of the earth at a speed that keeps
growing. The collision between these particles and atoms present in the earth’s atmosphere, it
releases the energy that causes the formation of colorful auroras at the poles of the earth,
which looks like a big circle around the pole.

Why Aurora is only found in the earth’s poles? This is because the north and South
Pole magnetic field is very strong compared to other regions. The protons and electrons from
the solar wind is pulled by the poles. So the phenomenon is more common in the Polar
Regions.
Closing
However, sometimes the Aurora can also appear at the top of the mountain in a
tropical climate, but this phenomenon is extremely rare. Aurora phenomena have been
observed on other planets than Earth that have a magnetic field, such as Jupiter, Saturn and
more recently Mars. A widespread phenomenon and beyond is believed in the Solar System.
And yet, the wonderful pictures had been uploaded by many people.

elucidation of Bushfires
General Statement
You may often saw news at TV about
Australian Bushfires, but do you actually
understand what is bushfires overall? Well, here is
what I can explain. Bushfires are fires that burn
through areas of bushland. They are a type of wildfire – fires that burn through wild
vegetation like woodland, scrubland, grassland or savannahs. These fires are unpredictable
and difficult to control. Bushfires are generally slower moving, but have a higher heat output.
This means they pass in two to five minutes, but they can smoulder for days. Fire in the
crown of the tree canopy can move rapidly.

Explanation
Sometimes the heat comes from lightning that strikes a dry patch of plants. Although
less often, it comes from the sparks that can happen when a rock falls onto another rock and
scratches it. Bushfires tend to occur when light and heavy fuel loads in Eucalypt forests have
dried out, usually following periods of low rainfall. The potential for extreme fire weather
varies greatly throughout Australia, both in frequency and severity.

Bushfires not only brought loss to human, but also for several living creatures. Many
plants and animals are dying cause of bushfires. We took an example of Koalas, authentic
animals from Australian who became endangered after bushfires happen.

Closing
However, phenomenon like bushfires are naturally occur without our consent. It is
inevitable that Australia will always have large bushfires but, with better land management
and improved understanding of bushfire behaviour, hopefully the catastrophic loss of life that
has occurred in the past can be avoided.
