1. Introduction
Multi-Head Controller, or MHC, is a software by Mark Roberts Motion Control used to control the MRMC camera heads via Ethernet, designed for professional studio and external
broadcast environments with simplicity in mind. MHC provides smooth, precise and real-time control over a multitude of MRMC robotic heads at the touch of a button and connectivity to
external controllers, such as a USB Joysticks, Broadcast panels, Xbox controllers and Ethernet based Pan-Bar controllers from a single workstation.

1.1. Purpose
The purpose of Release Notes is to communicate the major new features and changes in new MHC Release (Version number 3.0.4.0). It also documents known issues and work arounds.

2. Software Location
New version of MHC Release version 3.0.4.0 can be found at https://www.mrmoco.com/resources/downloads/

3. Compatibility
3.1 Firmware

- MHC v3.0.4.0 only supports 64-bit installation


- MHC v3.0.4.0 will require OpenGL 4.3 or above support. Please read system requirements for more details.
- Please note special upgrade instructions for MHC 2.8 to MHC 3.0.4 below.

It is highly recommended that the users perform a backup procedure to the current MHC environment before an upgrade or a new installation. The software installation process will provide
the users an option to either perform a new installation or an update process. New installation process will remove all previous user specific configurations.

The minimum system requirements for installing MHC v3.0.4.0 are Windows 10
 Intel i3 CPU
 4GB RAM
 Ethernet adapter
 A graphics card with support for OpenGL v4.3 or greater

The recommended system requirements for installing MHC v3.0.4.0 are Windows 10
 Intel i5 CPU
 8GB RAM
 Ethernet adapter
 A graphics card with support for OpenGL v4.3 or greater.

The minimum system requirements for supporting Polymotion Chat system are
 CPU: i7-9750H
 GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060
 RAM: 8GB
 SSD: 256GB
 HDD :1TB
 Video Ingest: AJA UTap ,Decklink card, NDI device & RTSP stream
 Motherboard graphics card with support for OpenGL v4.3 or greater

The Recommended system requirements for supporting Polymotion Chat system for stable tracking are
 CPU: i7-9750H
 GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060
 RAM: 8GB
 SSD: 256GB
 HDD :1TB
 Video Ingest: AJA UTap, Decklink card,
 Motherboard graphics card with support foe OpenGL v4.3 or greater
 Display from Motherboard graphics card to be on TCC mode.

4.1 Backup procedure for MHC Upgrade.


1. Create a copy of the MHC folder in C:\Program Files\MHC and rename it accordingly
2. Select the upgrade option during MHC v3.0.4.0 installation

4.2 Backup procedure New Installation.


1. Rename the current working environment located under
C:\Program Files\MHC [Change MHC folder to MHC_xy]
2. Select New Installation option during MHC v3.0.4.0 installation

4.3 MHC 2.8 to MHC 3.0.4 upgrade steps:

- Before installing the new version of Chat ensure that you backup your existing MHC and CV-Engine folders

1. Backup existing MHC folder and existing CV-Engine folder


2. Uninstall MHC and CV-Engine using ‘Apps & features’ in Windows Settings
3. Copy the installer files for MHC and CV-Engine together into a single folder on the target machine
4. Run installer CV-Engine_CV2_Setup_Server_v3.0.4.0.exe (install to new folder)
5. Run installer MHCPolymotionLauncherSetup_x64-v3.0.4.0.exe (install to new folder)
6. To keep the existing configuration from v2.8, copy all .xml files from the MHC 2.8 backup in the MHC\<mhc product>\Server folder to the new MHC 3.0.4 installation at MHC\<mhc
product>\ServerConfig folder (For example MHC\Chat Studio\ServerConfig)
7. Start Polymotion Launcher from the desktop icon created during install
8. As this is a major software version update, a new license is required. Request a new license using the form in the application and install the new license file that you will receive by
email.
9. Press the appropriate launch button to start your licensed version of Chat
10. Check that your robot configuration is correct in the Admin screen
11. If the configuration is not as expected, close down all running programs and restart the MHC product again using the launcher, this will allow the configuration files to be updated to
the new format.
12. Go into Chat Wizard and click on Start CV-Engine for the first robot (if not already started)

PLEASE NOTE: The very first time you start CV-Engine from the Chat Wizard page you will see a command window appear (shown in image below), this will stay on screen for 5 to 10 mins
and will close and reopen a few times while CV-Engine builds the AI models for the pose estimation engine. DO NOT CLOSE THIS WINDOW, it will close itself once the models have
completed building. When you see yellow limbs overlaid on people in the video frame it shows that the pose estimation is now working.
