1.What potential organizational changes might result from the acquisition by Amazon?
Amazon buying Zappos can lead to new opportunities of business and resources for Zappos.
Amazon can provide new operation systems for Zappos, and also try to popularize its method of hiring
and treating employees in the workplace.

2.Why do you think Zappos’ approach is not utilized more often? In other words, what are the
challenges to these techniques?
I strongly believe that Zappos’ approach is not utilized more often because not all businesses are
in the position of giving that much money to people that may or may not join their organization.
Moreover, Zappos’ approach is a very complex and well-thought process that not everyone is ready to
follow and implement in their company. The challenges of this technique are being able to pay that
much money, having the time and resources to do a little research, implement the idea and make sure
that the whole process takes place smoothly, given the fact that there would be a lot of applicants and
not all of them come with good intentions. You need to be prepared for any obstacle that may come n
your way and be aware that it is a risky method (that does not work for everyone).

3.Why do you think Zappos offers a $2,000 incentive to quit?


The reason behind Zappos offering a 2000 dollars incentive to quit is due to the company’s
desire to have the best employees that truly want to work there. Since they are offering such a generous
amount of money, people tend to quit the programme, meaning they are not fully dedicated to this firm
and its opportunities for jobs. Futhermore, I believe that this method improves employee satisfaction
and productivity, knowing that everyone around them are committed to their job at Zappos.

4.Would you be motivated to work at Zappos? Why or why not?


I would definitely feel motivated to work at Zappos because as an employee, having so many
benefits and opportunities of trainings and the CEO’S concern about specific details about myself would
make me feel appreciated, valued, heard and seen. Knowing that my opinion, my health and well-being
are important for the executive board would make me feel safe, and it would make me get up in the
morning excited about going to work. Every job has its difficulties, obstacles and stressed periods of
time, but I would be optimistic the entire time due to the health, positive environment the CEO is
providing for his/her employees. This atmosphere would motivate me to give 100% of my effort, even
stay after hours, and try to be the best employee I possibly can.
