There are different types of shows aired in every television network but among those varieties,
news, public affairs, and religious programs are present to all the top 6 TV network programs.
Culture affects the type of program being aired and the interest of the viewers differs from one
another so in other channels some programs are not available to the other. The country
Philippines is a very religious country, the data also prove that Philippine has different religions
but mainly Catholic has the most followers based on the number of programs it has in the TV
network. Same goes with News, every network has its own news reporters. The good thing is,
the viewers can select which news they want to put on their TV. GMA may report news that are
not available in ABS CBN and vice versa which is helpful to the community because it can
broaden the scope of information available.

You can also notice in the table the many the viewers the more the varieties of shows they have,
GMA is leading in the markset share and ABS CBN follows. GMA 7 and ABS CBN has more
types of programs than the rest broadcasting stations. It is also an advantage to them since
because of their varieties of shows, they were able to boost their ratings unlike those other
which only caters to certain viewers.
