Alw ays follow the safety instructions for your own safety and the safety of
others.
1. Always handle your firearm as if it w ere loaded.
2. Never point your firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.
3. N ever take anyone's w ord that a firearm is unloaded.
4. Alw ays m ake sure that your firearm is not loaded before laying it dow n, or
handing it to another person.
5. Alw ays keep and carry your firearm em pty, w ith the ham m er forw ard
(released), except w hen you intend to shoot.
6. N ever abuse your firearm by using it for any purpose other than shooting.
7. N ever leave the firearm cocked and ready to fire unattended.
8. Before loading your firearm ensure that the barrel bore, cham ber, and action

12. Alw ays keep the safety on w hen the firearm is loaded and cocked, until you
are ready to fire.
13. Alw ays keep clear of, and keep others clear of the ejection port.
14. N ever squeeze the trigger or put your finger in the trigger guard until you are
aim ing at a target and ready to shoot.
15. Always be absolutely sure of your target, and the area behind it, before you
squeeze the trigger. A bullet could travel through or past your target up to
se ve ra l hu nd red s o f m ete rs .
16. N ever shoot at a hard surface such as rock, or a liquid surface such as w ater.
17. N ever fire your firearm near an anim al unless it is trained to accept the noise.

19. Failure to fire: alw ays hold the firearm , keeping it pointed tow ards the target,
or a safe open area and w ait 30 seconds w hen the firearm fails to fire. If a
hangfire (slow ignition) has occurred, the round w ill fire w ithin 30 seconds. If
the round does not fire, rem ove the m agazine, eject the round and exam ine
the prim er; if the firing pin indent on the prim er is light, or off center, or non-
existent, have the firearm exam ined by a com petent gunsm ith.

The nam es of basic parts of the subm achine gun used in this Instruction
M anual are presented in Fig. 1 on the inner side of the left-hand cover. The
nom enclature of all parts of this firearm is presented in the section llu stratio n a n d
Lis t o f P arts
U nfold the foldouts of this Instruction M anual when reading it; in order to be
able to see all the illustratiol1s printed on the insides of the covers.

The Skorpion subm achine gun is a general purpose, light and autom atic
firearm for individuals. This firearm can be fired either in fully autom atic, or in
sem i-autom atic m odes of fire. The Skorpion has a sim ple folding (retractable)
stock, thus enabling shooting from shoulder. If the stock is folded (retracted), then
this subm achine gun can be fired hand-held in sem iautom atic or fully autom atic
m odes of fire. The effective range of fire from the shoulder is up to 150 m , hand-
held up to 50 m . Its very light weight, and sm all dim ensions, allow the concealed
carry and use of this subm achine gun in very restricted spaces.
The S korpion is equipped with a rate reducer used to lower the cyclic rate of
fire; this device also absorbs bolt recoil, and steadies the w eapon after each shot.
The safety-selector lever features three positions: 1 - sem iautom atic fire, 20 -
fu lly a uto m atic fire , a nd 0 - S afe ty -O n m o de .
The m agazines are of double colum n type with a double colum n outlet. The
S korpion com es with so called short and long m agazines (see Technical
S pecifications for their respective capacity). The bolt stays locked open w hen the
last cartridge from the m agazine has been fired.
D isassem bly for cleaning and preserving purposes of the Skorpion does not
require the use of any tools.

H old the subm achine gun by the grip as if shooting, and push (tap) the curved
part of the shoulder stock located beneath the barrel (Fig. 2) from below . Then
grasp the shoulder stock and rotate backw ards to its extended position.

Firm ly hold the subm achine gun's m agazine in the left hand. U sing your other
thum b, w hile gripping the pistolgrip , press the knurled part of the left shoulder-
stock holder (as close to the shoulder stock axis of rotation as possible - Fig. 3).
After sufficient pressure, rotate the shoulder stock upw ards and forw ard until it
c atc he s w ith the fro nt s ig ht prote ction c ap ture .

H old the subm achine gun w ith the right hand by its grip, and grasp the
m agazine by the other. D epress the m agazine catch w ith the left-hand thum b
(Fig. 4), and w ith a sim ultaneous dow nw ard m otion, rem ove the m agazine.

W ith the open end upperm ost, grasp the m agazine in one hand. Place
a cartridge on the m agazine follow er, w ith the cartridge head placed against the
rear w all of the m agazine. Press the cartridge dow n until it is inserted under the
m agazine lips. Place the next cartridge on top of the previous cartridge and load it
in the sam e m anner (Fig. 5).
The num ber of cartridges loaded can be checked by m eans of the inspection
holes in the rear w all of the m agazine.
D o not try to exceed the m agazine capacity - doing so can cause a feed
failure.

T he next cartridge is fired after the trigger is released and pressed again.

A uto m atic F ire

For fully autom atic fire, it is necessary to change the safety selector position to
20 Le. forw ards. If the subm achine gun is loaded, and the m agazine holds a
sufficient num ber of cartridges, then firing can be initiated at any tim e by pressing
the trigger, and interrupted by releasing the trigger. The length of the burst
depends on how long the trigger is depressed, and can be from 2 cartridges up to
the full capacity of the m agazine.

blocks the trigger m echanism and bait, thus preventing both the inadvertent
pulling of the trigger and operations of the bolt.

Sight Adjustment
T he subm achine gun w as sighted-in at the m anufacturing p iant, at a distance
of 75 m , so that the m ean point of im pact approxim ately conform s to the point of
aim.
The flip-over rear sight (Fig. 7) can be set for a 150-m range of fire. C ontingent
sight correction should be carried out by a gunsm ith, by rotating the eccentric
front sight after partial easing of the front sig ht sleeve screw .

4. G rasp the receiver with the left hand from above, pull it out a few m illim eters
to the front, and hinge it upw ards (Fig.9).
5. Fully retract the bolt by m eans of tile bolt cocking knobs to the point w here the
bolt cocking knobs are at the w idened ends of the receiver longitudinal slots.
6. Pull out both cocking knobs to the sides. Separate the bolt from the receiver.

CAUTION:
No further disassem bly is needed for routine m aintenance and preserving.
N ever attem pt to disassem ble your subm achine gun further. If you assum e that
your subm achine gun requires adjustm ent or repair, then entrust this task to a
c om p e te nt g u ns m ith .

Cleaning the Barrel Bore and the C artridge C ham ber

If the subm achine gun has not been fired, or if only a few cartridges have been
fired, clean the barrel bore and cartridge cham ber by m eans of a clean patch
attached to the cleaning rod.

W hen the barrel bore is very dirty, apply a gun cleaning solution using
a cleaning brush. Let the solvent act for about 10 m inutes (tim e m ay vary
depending on the solvent agent being used). T hen thoroughly scrub out the barrel
bore. Subsequently, dry the barrel bore and cartridge cham ber w ith a clean patch
and check that all pow der residues or fouling have been rem oved. If necessary
re pe a t th is p ro ce d ure .
The cleaning rod and the brush m ust be inserted into the barrel bore from the
cham ber, to prevent w ear or dam age to the m uzzle. P ass the brush all the w ay
through the barrel bore before reversing the m ovem ent. If you try to change
directions w ith the brush still in the barrel, the brush cou ld stick.

C leaning of O ther Subm achine G un Parts

O ther parts of the sub machine gun should be cleaned w ith the enclosed
cleaning accessories, or a dry cloth, an old toothbrush, a brass bristle brush or a
w ooden scraper. Preserving oil or paraffin oil can be used. N ever use the agent
designed for barrel bore cleaning These solutions could rem ain in the joints, and
after som e tim e, could cause corrosion.
C heck that particles of cloth or brush bristles have not becom e lodged in any
p art o f th e fire arm .
