A number of marbles are shared among April, May and June. April gets 30% of the marbles,
May gets twice as many as April gets and June gets the remaining marbles.
(a) If there are totally x marbles, express the number of marbles April, May and June get
in terms of x respectively. (2 marks)
(b) If May gives 3 marbles to June, the percentage increase of June’s marbles will be 150%.

The marked price of a travelling package includes a hotel room rent of $4 000 and an air ticket

of the air ticket is increased by 10%. Find

(b) the cost price of the travelling package if the profit percent is 50% in the peak season.
