DEFINITION
The meaning of the character "Qardh" in
Arabic is (‫)القرض‬
English: Loan (Cut off/interest-free)
Malay: Pinjaman (Tanpa bunga)

Literal meaning: The borrower takes ownership


of the property after completing the
transaction. The case because putting the
Qardh into practice indicates that the lender
would lose part of their property in exchange
for giving the loan to the borrower, which is
why it is mentioned in this manner. While
"Hassan" refers to a charity act. (AL-QARDH AL-
HASSAN)
OBJECTIVES
To assist persons experiencing financial problems.

To prevent from engaging in interest (riba) based loans


banned in Islam.

To do a good act that Allah SWT and Prophet


Muhammad SAW encourage and praise.

Help people in need, to improve relationships between


the poor and the rich by getting people to share their
money.

To get cleared the unemployment problem.

CONDITIONS OF AL-QARD

Both parties must be legally competent to enter


into the qardh contract.

Qardh contract can only be entered into with a


clear ljab (offer) and qabul (acceptance).

The loan agreement should include the loan's name


and payment due date.

The contract should be in writing so that both


parties have something to refer to in the case of a
dispute.

EVIDENCE IN AL-QURAN

“Who is that will grant Allah a goodly (sincere) loan so that He will repay him
many times over? And (remember) it is Allah who decreases and increases
(sustenance) and to Him you shall return.

- Surah al-Baqarah, verse 245.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever
takes people’s wealth with the intention of repaying it, Allah will repay it on
his behalf; and whoever takes it in order to use it up, Allah will destroy him"

- Al-Bukhari, Sahih al-Bukhari, hadith no. 2212.
