PGS.TS. Pham Cong HoatNEW CONTRIBUTION OF THE STUDY
‘Thesis title: The study on nitrogen-metabolizing bacteria in the bottom of lobster
(Panutirus sp.) culture area for aquaculture.
Major: Biotechnology Code: 9.42.02.01
PhD. Candidate: Truong Phuoc Thien Hoang
Supervisors: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Hoa; Assoc.Prof. Dr. Pham Cong Hoat
Educational institution: Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City.
New findings of the thesis:
The results of the study have isolated and selected three strains: Bacillus
licheniformis B85, Pseudomonas stutzeri KL15, Rhodococcus rhodochrous T9 which
are capable of metabolizing ammonia, nitrite and nitrate compounds from the bottom
of the lobster farming area in Xuan Dai Bay, Phu Yen Province.
The thesis has built a process to isolate three strains of bacteria from the salt
water environment.
‘The thesis has studied the culture conditions, liquid and semi-solid media
composition suitable for the growth of three bacterial strains as the basis for the
production of microbial products.
