▪ Engine Department

>> The engine Department teams is primarily responsible for the safe and smooth operation of the
ships propulsion systems, main and auxiliary engines as well as for all technical operations and
mechanical equipment onboard and cruise ship-electrical system, safety and free fighting systems, HVAC
and waste disposal.

▪ Deck Department

>> The deck department on a cruise ship is a part of the marine operation division. The primary
responsibilities of the deck officers and ratings are the safe navigation of the vessels plus all safety and
security aspects of the ships operations, including guest, officers, crew and staff members.

▪ Hotel Department

>> Responsible for guest services and also a provider of needs and wants of the guest.

The hotel department is also divided into several section for fulfilling the various tasks, It includes
food and beverages ,Purser ( accounting), Hotel administration, and the housekeeping sections.

▪ Entertainment

• One person per two meters in place at entertainment venues.


• Indoor dance floors at these venues can re-open.
• QR code check-in requirements will remain in entertainment venues.
• Wearing a mask is required for everyone in all indoor and outdoor entertainment shows.

▪ The Tours

• To protect the health of guests and the local community, companies such as cruise line are only
private islands (usually owned by the cruise line) is allowed to have a shore without excurtions.
• Other cruise lines, attempts to make offshore excretions safer with sanitizer, socially distanced
transportation and guides who have tested negative for COVID-19. In some cases , passenger
must take a rapid COVID-19 test and received a negative result before coming back onboard.
• Passenger who leave the group tour not might be allowed back on the ship.

▪ Youth Programs

• Communicate with families prior to session beginning to set expectations for program
participation, including following mitigation strategies and attendance requirements related to
illness, symptoms, exposure and quarantine.
• During outdoor programming if physical distance be maintained.
• People who are not fully vaccinated should wear mask in crowded outdoor programs or during
activities that involve sustained close contact with other people who are not fully vaccinated
material.
• Clean and disinfect common venues and materials.
▪ The Salon And Spa

• Eliminate the waiting room and implement telephone check-in and send waivers and form to
guest cabins to fill out before they arrived so theres no need for them to use a shared tablet or
clipboard.

• Ask each guest entering the shop the following questions;

- Have you had a cough?

- Have you had a fever?

- Have you been around anyone exhibiting this symptoms within the past 14 days?

- Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined?

• Should consider use the thermometer to check the temperature of employee each day and of
each client before entering the salon/shop. Any employee or client who has a temperature
before 37 *C ( 99*F) should be sent cabin immediately and not allowed to return yo the
salon/shop until they have no fever and no evidence of COVI-19 symptoms.
• Mask is mandatory for service providers. Place a clean towel, placed over the face of your client
while at the sink in a good way to protect their mouth, nose, and eyes. Minimized to the
greatest degree possible, up-close,

• All salons/shops should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to reopening. Disinfect all
surfaces, tools, and linens, even if they were cleaned before the salon/shop was closed.

• Casino are open but with limitations to allow social distancing and disinfection of machines

• Individuals remain spaced at least 6 feet apart while seated or standing.
• Limit for a maximum number of players per gaming table will be imposed.
▪ Do I Have To Be Vaccinated To Go On A Cruise?

>> The world’s largest cruise companies now require guest and crew to be fully vaccinated before
boarding a cruise ship.

And also guest will usually be required to show proof of vaccination at the terminal before
boarding. Some cruise lines will also require passengers-wether vaccinated or not-but they need to
show proof of a COVID-19 test taken within 2 days of boarding a vessel.

▪ Do I Have To Wear A Mask At All Times On The Ship?

>> Guest and crew are strongly encourage to wear masks in public spaces and required to do so in
such indoor areas as elevators, stores, casinos and dining halls, except when eating or drinking, You
typically won’t be required to wear mask around the pool and hot tubs, but deck chairs are spaced
farther apart than in the past to maintain physical distance.

▪ What About Shore Visits And Excursions?

>> To go onshore, you must meet the health protocols of the country the ship visits. The government
of the Bahamas, for example, recently announced that all cruise visitors must be fully vaccinated, with
the exception of travelers under age 12 and those with medical exemptions.

On some ships, unvaccinated passengers are not allowed to go onshore except with a pre-booked
‘’bubble tour’’, in which passengers travel with friends and family in a controlled environment. On the
other cruise lines, shore excursions managed by the ships are strongly encouraged.

You won’t be lining up the buffets for meals, Most self-serve buffets have modified so that
employees serve passengers to avoid unnecessary crowding. Indoor dancing, karaoke and nightclubs are
no longer allowed on many ships, On some ships, passengers won’t be allowed to try on clothing for
sale. Physical distancing is encourage for all activities.

▪ Will I Need To Make Reservations For Dining And Other Onboard Activities?

>> To manage capacity and physical distancing, many board restaurants recommend reservations and
will limit groups at dining tables to eight. On costa cruise for example, reservations can be made through
the mobile application. On other cruises, reservation can be made on the cruise app.
