Statement of Interest for MBA admission

I, sample person am eager to get an opportunity to be admitted into the prestigious MBA program of
Memorial University of Newfoundland. I am currently serving as an Associate Manager, Treasury attached
to prestigious Treasury Department of a reputed Private Commercial Bank (ONE Bank Limited) of
Bangladesh. My work involves fund management activities in Money Market and Foreign Exchange
Market. Therefore, I need to make numerous operational decisions that ensure smooth management of
my bank’s fund. I have performed as an Associate Relationship Manager of Credit Department previously
which involved numerous lending decisions. Now, my total managerial experience is 6 years and 7
months in the same bank excluding on the job training period of one year.

I have been moving towards the mid-level management position from low-level management position
reasonably within a decade from now. My top Academic Qualification is BBA (Major in Finance), which
has supported me immensely to climb this level of organizational hierarchy. However, I am not
complacent with current outlook of my career. I actually want to become a top level manager within a
decade from now which is feasible only if I add significant value to my Academic Qualification and
strengthen some of my skills. I not only aspire to be a highly acclaimed business leader but also want to
make impact in the global marketplace with my leadership skills. Furthermore, I am desperate to gather
broad range of knowledge in the area of business. On top of that, I am eager to develop problem-solving
and decision-making skills in myself to such extent that I can truly be an effective leader. An MBA from
Memorial University of Newfoundland is perfectly aligned with my career aspirations as per my extensive
analysis of this MBA program. I am confident that an MBA from Memorial University of Newfoundland can
help me achieve my career goal. Although I possess large set of skills already, I feel that I need to
sharpen some of my skills to a new height so that I can overcome the challenges that I will likely face in
my later part of career. I need to further improve my skills in the areas of accounting, marketing and
strategy because I lack my skills in these areas. On the other hand, I am exceedingly strong in marketing,
finance, economics and the other areas where I can excel by studying more in the MBA Program.

I have work experience of multiple departments of the bank – Credit and Treasury. Therefore, I know how
a large bank works better than professionals who possess expertise in one department. Hence, I have
plenty of resources to share to my group learning environment in the MBA program of Memorial
University of Newfoundland. I think I will provide valuable insights regarding how a large financial
institution operates successfully.

MBA Program of Memorial University of Newfoundland is designed in such a way that it perfectly satisfies
my academic and career objectives. Completing MBA Program from Memorial University of
Newfoundland on a good tone will allow me to acquire wide range of managerial skills required for top
level managers. I am optimistic that I will become a highly effective and efficient leader if I get opportunity
of admission into MBA Program of Memorial University of Newfoundland and will be able to make a
difference. Thus, I will be elevated in confidence even further and will be more comfortable in pursuing my
self-actualization goal of career.
