In my opinion, I completely agree with this idea due to the limited benefits space programs can offer. To begin with, space exploration programs usually cost huge amounts of money. To be more specific, each space mission costs around 4 billion USD. Although these programs could be beneficial for the scientific society, their benefits are almost intangible to the public. It would be much better for the public if a budget of 4 billion USD were spent to solve many pressing issues like building new schools, hospitals and housing projects . Additionally, many costly space projects have failed to meet their goals. NASA, for example, has lost contact with its space vehicle that landed on Mars on June 2017.
