To protect only certain cells, columns, or rows in Excel: select the cells you want to protect and lock them by formatting those cells and checking the Locked option. Then protect the entire sheet with a password from the Review tab. Now only the locked cells will be protected, while other cells remain unlocked and editable. To unprotect, go back to the Review tab and unprotect the sheet by entering the password.
