THE ROMANS
About 2,000 years ago, the Romans arrived in Britain. It wasn’t a short
visit. In fact, they stayed for nearly 400 years. When they finally left, Britain
was a very different place. The Romans changed many things related to everyday life in Britain.
We can still see a large number of these changes today. For example:
