傳 6:3 人若生一百個兒子、活許多歲數、以致他的年日甚多、心裏卻不得滿享福樂、又不得
埋葬 ‧據我說、那不到期而落的胎比他倒好‧
現代中文:一個人儘管有上百的兒女,在世長壽,如果他沒有享受應得的福份,死後又不得安葬,那
麼,即使他活了許多歲數,又有什麼益處?我想,一個流產的胎兒還比他好呢。
呂振中:人若生了一百個孩子,活了許多歲數,以致他的年日很多,但他心裏卻不得飽享福樂,他又
不得適當的葬禮;我說流產胎比他還好。
當代聖經:若有一個人養了一百個兒子,並且得享長壽,但心中卻從來得不到滿足,死後又不得安葬;
唉!與其如此,不如胎死腹中更好。
新譯本:人如果生下百子,活了許多歲數,年日長久,但是心裏不因美物滿足,又得不到安葬,我以
為流產的胎比他還好。
思高聖經:一人生有百子,活了很大歲數,他年紀雖高,卻沒有隨心享受福樂,且未得安葬,照我看
來,他還不如流產的胎兒。
NASB: If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many years, however many they be, but his soul
is not satisfied with good things and he does not even have a proper burial, then I say, "Better the
miscarriage than he,
NIV: A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he
cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off
than he.
The Message: Say a couple have scores of children and live a long, long life but never enjoy
themselves—even though they end up with a big funeral! I'd say that a stillborn baby gets the
better deal.
JSB:Even if a man should beget a hundred children and live many years – no matter how many
days of his years may come to – if his gullet is not sated through his wealth, I say: The stillbirth,
though it was not even accorded a burial, is more fortunate than he.

傳 6:8 這樣看來、智慧人比愚昧人有甚麼長處呢‧窮人在眾人面前知道如何行 、有甚麼長


處呢。
現代中文:聰明人比愚蠢人有什麼長處呢?叫窮人知道怎樣跟人來往有什麼益處呢?
呂振中:智慧人比愚頑人有甚麼長處?貧困人在眾生面前曉得怎樣行、有甚麼長處?
當代聖經:那麼,聰明人比愚昧人有甚麼優勝呢?貧窮人即使懂得如何處世,又有甚麼益處呢?
新譯本:智慧人比愚昧人有甚麼長處呢?窮人在眾人面前知道怎樣行事為人,又有甚麼長處呢?
NIV: What advantage has a wise man over a fool? What does a poor man gain by knowing how to
conduct himself before others?
The Amplified Bible: For what advantage has the wise man over the fool [being worldly-wise is not
the secret to happiness]? What advantage has the poor man who has learned how to walk
before the living [publicly, with men's eyes upon him; being poor is not the secret to
happiness either]?
The Message: So what advantage has a sage over a fool, or over some poor wretch who barely gets by?
The Amplified Bible: For what advantage has the wise man over the fool [being worldly-wise is not the
secret to happiness]? What advantage has the poor man who has learned how to walk before the
living [publicly, with men's eyes upon him; being poor is not the secret to happiness either]?
JSB: What advantage then has the wise man over the fool, what advantage has the pauper who knows how to
get on life?

傳 6:4 因為虛虛而來、暗暗而去、名字被黑暗遮蔽‧
現代中文:胎兒生下沒有好處;他消失在黑暗中,被遺忘了。
呂振中:為流產胎虛虛幻幻而來,暗暗而去,其名字也給黑暗遮蔽著;
當代聖經:這胎兒從虛幻而來,亦無聲無息而去,名字也隱沒了。
新譯本:因為這胎虛虛而來,暗暗而去,黑暗把他的名字遮蔽了。
NIV: It comes without meaning, it departs in darkness, and in darkness its name is shrouded.
The Message: It gets its start in a mist and ends up in the dark—unnamed.
The Amplified Bible: I say that [he who had] an untimely birth [resulting in death] is better off than
he
JSB: Though it comes into futility and departs into darkness, and its very name is covered with
darkness.

傳 6:9 眼睛所看的、比心裏妄想的倒好‧這也是虛空、也是捕風。
現代中文:這也是空虛,是捕風。能滿足於自己所有的,遠勝過貪得無饜。
呂振中:眼睛看到的比心裏轉來轉去想的好:這也是虛空,也是捕風。
當代聖經:眼目所見的,總比心中渴想得到的更為實際,這也是虛空,有如捕風一樣。
新譯本:眼睛看見的,勝過心中想望的。這也是虛空,也是捕風。
思高聖經:眼看見過的總勝過心所想望的:這也是空虛,也是追風。

NASB:What the eyes see is better than what the soul desires. This too is futility and a striving after wind.
NIV:Better what the eye sees than the roving of the appetite. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the
wind.
The Message: grab whatever you can while you can; don't assume something better might turn up by and
by. All it amounts to anyway is smoke. And spitting into the wind.
The Amplified Bible: Better is the sight of the eyes [the enjoyment of what is available to one] than the
cravings of wandering desire. This is also vanity (emptiness, falsity, and futility) and a striving after
the wind and a feeding on it!
JSB: Is the feasting of the eyes more important than the pursuit of desires? That too, is futility and
pursuit of wind.

傳 6:10 先前所有的、早已起了名‧並知道何為人 ‧他也不能與那比自己力大的相爭。


現代中文:已經發生的事是早已命定了的;我們知道人無法跟比他強大的抗辯。
呂振中:現今存在的早已起了名,大家都知道人是甚麼,他並不能同那比他力大的相爭呀。
當代聖經:一切存在的事物都已定了名,人是怎樣的也被識透了;因此,他無法與那比他更強的爭論。
新譯本:已經存在的,早已有了名稱;大家都知道人是怎樣的;人絕無法與比自己強的抗辯。
天主教思高聖經:已往所有的,都已有名可稱;人為何物,都已知道;人決不能與強於自己的抗辯。
NASB; Whatever exists has already been named, and it is known what man is; for he cannot dispute with him
who is stronger than he is.
NIV: Whatever exists has already been named, and what man is has been known; no man can contend with one
who is stronger than he.
RSV: Whatever has come to be has already been named, and it is known what man is, and that he is not able to
dispute with one stronger than he.
The Message: Whatever happens, happens. Its destiny is fixed. You can't argue with fate.

The Amplified Bible: Whatever [man] is, he has been named that long ago, and it is known that it is man
[a]
[Adam]; nor can he contend with Him who is mightier than he [whether God or death].
JSB: Whatever happens, it was happened long ago and it was known that it would happen; as for man, he
cannot contend with what is stronger than he.
