JOHN CHAPTER 10: CHAPTER STUDY

I. Introduction
A. Background of the book of John
- John was one of Jesus' disciples and wrote this gospel to emphasize Jesus' divinity
- John's gospel contains many unique stories and teachings not found in the other gospels
B. Purpose of the book of John
- John wrote this gospel so that people would believe in Jesus
and have eternal life (John 20:31)

- This chapter contains the story of Jesus healing a man born blind, as well as Jesus'

John chapter 10 in the Bible is all about Jesus as the Good Shepherd. This chapter is often
referred to as the "Good Shepherd discourse". In this chapter, Jesus uses the metaphor of a
shepherd and his sheep to explain his relationship with his followers.
1: The Good Shepherd Knows His Sheep
