Course Title: DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION (DE)
Course Code: Math 251
Course Description: This course provides the background models necessary for
understanding, analyzing and solving complex problems in
engineering, the natural sciences, economics, actuarial sciences, and
even business. Topics include Basic Concepts of Differential Equation,
First-Order Ordinary Differential Equations(ODE), Higher-Order
Linear ODE, Systems of Linear ODE and Laplace Transforms.
PowerPoint, and subject based application are used to demonstrate
selected topical concepts.
Course Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to do the
following:
1. Classify DE in terms of it Type, Order, Degree, Linearity and
Homogeneity

2. Apply certain techniques in solving First-Order-Linear differential


problems in one’s field of study

3. Be able to solve DE of higher order with constant and variable


coefficients using the appropriate techniques

4. Reduce higher order linear differential equations to system of first


order differential equations and solve.

5. Solve general differential equations with Laplace Transform

Variable
7. Bernoulli’s Equation
