Taking Turns

There are a lot of things in my classroom I can

play with.
Sometimes I want to play with the blocks.
Sometimes I want to play with the dolls.
I might play with the playdough.
I can choose what I want to play with at
school.
Other kids like to play with the toys too.
Sometimes someone else is playing with a toy
that I like to use.
It is okay.
If I want to play with a toy someone else has, I
could say, “my turn”.
I might use a picture card that says “my turn”.
Sometimes I might be told no.
It is okay.
Sometimes I might have to wait for a turn.
It is okay.
Sometimes it is hard to wait for my turn.
I can play with something else while I wait for
my turn.
It is okay to wait my turn.
Sometimes someone may ask me for a turn to
use what I am playing with.
Can I have a
turn?
It is okay to say “no” or “wait”.
When I am done playing with the toy, I can let
someone else have a turn.
I’m finished,
you can have
a turn.
It is okay to take turns.
Taking turns helps us share everything in our
classroom.
I will try to share toys.
