ASI Smart Data Export Platform
Product Overview
The Omnis® Data Streamer data export platform provides the ability to export ASI Smart
Data from NETSCOUT® deployments to data lakes to address various use cases, such as
security operational intelligence, business insights, expansion planning, resource re-allocation
and budgeting. Omnis Data Streamer, powered by NETSCOUT patented Adaptive Service
Intelligence® (ASI) technology, leverages packet data to generate “Smart Data” for smarter
analytics to assure security, performance, manage risk, and facilitate superior decision-making
regarding applications, network services, and much more. The Omnis Data Streamer platform
enables the export of valuable metadata containing metrics about enterprise-wide services,
application components, individual hosts and/or groups of clients or servers. This provides
unique insight into the deployment environment, services, and business value.
Scalable Architecture
Omnis Data Streamer has a highly scalable system architecture that supports data collection
and export in deployments ranging from targeted standalone deployments to very large,
distributed networks. Omnis Data Streamer scales horizontally from a single node installation, 2,
or 3, to N number of nodes based on the capacity needs. Omnis Data Streamer delivers a next-
generation approach to data enablement that is virtually unlimited, unchained, and unrestricted.
Omnis Data Streamer is a data producer, fitting directly into the Kafka ecosystem, to push data
to the Kafka broker (Figure 1). It supports common output formats including:
• JSON (Kafka)
• AVRO (Kafka)
• CSV (Local Filesystem Write)
In the case of AVRO, the schema is published to the confluent registry, and CSV output files are
written to the local file system on the server where Omnis Data Streamer is installed.
