Homework:
Have fun :)

Monday, 15th January, 2024

Summary:
What’s the weather like today?

to know how to analyse the weather and tell
how’s the weather on that day.
Lesson Plan: The weather

Stage Procedure Resources Time

0 The teacher will start the class by asking how the Board 10’
weather is on that day. Students should look outside
the window and tell the answer to the teacher. After
that, the teacher will complete the summary, based
on what the students said.

After writing the summary, it is about time that

1 students open their books on page 24, so that class Book ‘10
starts. Page 24 presents us the weather. Pupils will
be doing the first exercise, where they have to listen,
repeat and then read about how the weather is. By .
doing this, students will practice their pronunciation
and reading skills at the same time. After completing
the first exercise, students will jump to exercise 3,
where they look at the images and have to circle the
correct option.

Secondly, the teacher will show students a site

2 where they will watch a video about the weather in Video about a ‘10
Louisiana. After the video, it’s time for a little random weather
discussion about it. Next, to continue with the topic in Louisiana +
of weather in other places, students will do the book
exercise 4, on page 25 – where they have to listen
how the weather is in another places.

Stage Procedure Resources Time

For the next part, students will listen to a song about

3 the weather. This song provides basic vocabulary
along with gestures about this topic. With this, the
teacher and the students can do the same gestures,
making pupils use their bodies – and complete the
song with the missing words.
After this, the teacher will play a game with Book and board 20’
students. The game consists of putting flashcards on
the board, with their respective names. The students
are supposed to close their eyes while the teacher
takes one off. After that, students will open their eyes
and will have to guess what type of weather is
missing.

4
For the last exercise, students will play another fun
game. This game consists of building a fortune teller.
The fortune teller has the days of the week,
Fortune teller ‘20
questions and images of the weather. The teacher
will exemplify how to build the fortune teller and let
them play with one another – making them to repeat
the question needed and the answer. Also, they will
have to guess the weather just by looking the image.

Stage Procedure Resources Time

If the class ends sooner, students will watch a video

about the weather in the UK. After that, students can
also give examples of some countries, and the
teacher may search for the weather on those
countries and ask students to say how is it. With this
exercise, students are practicing vocabulary and
pronunciation.

Assessment:
 Use repetition and question-answer to see if the students are learning effectively the
vocabulary.
 The riddles will help them using some skills such as: problem-solving, collaborative
learning and comprehension.

Aprendizagens Essenciais:
 Visual competence: recognize the weather, by just looking outside the window and

analyze the weather.

 Written comprehension: recognizing familiar vocabulary along with images and

practicing simple reading exercises aloud.

 Critical thinking: Present an argument to the group, justifying what the student is

saying and asking simple questions that foster curiosity to others on their own.

Anticipated problems:

1. Internet not working – would prevent me of playing the pirate game and watching
the National Geographic Kids video.
2. Projector not working – pupils could be unable to see some images if they are not in
a bigger format.
Solutions:

1. Download the video previously and have it in an USB pen drive; for the pirate
game, if the internet is not working, they can play the hangman based on
drawings/a PowerPoint game.
2. Turn the monitor over for students so they can see the images clearly.
