Draft International Code for Ships using Gas as Fuel (IGF Code)

3 BLG 16 noted that there are no additional requirements in the draft text of the
IGF Code for life-saving appliances over and above those in existing conventions, and
invited the Sub-Committee to consider the need for additional or alternative requirements
for life-saving appliances in ships covered by the Code with a view to advising the BLG
Sub-Committee accordingly.

Revision of the IGC Code

4 BLG 16 referred sections of the draft IGC Code as listed in annex 2 to document
BLG 16/7 to the Sub-Committee for consideration2.

5 FSI 20 forwarded, subject to endorsement by MSC 91, the reports on the incidents
of the BBC Atlantic (GISIS incident C0007492), Star Java (GISIS incident C0007519),
Knud Lauritzen (GISIS incident C0007251), Sand Falcon (GISIS incident C0007978) and
Wellservicer (GISIS incident C0007608), as well as the analysis and comments made by its
relevant correspondence group, to the Sub-Committee for consideration and action as
appropriate.

Action requested of the Sub-Committee

6 The Sub-Committee is invited to note the above information and take action,
as appropriate, under the relevant agenda items.
