<p>Les normes liées aux huiles de vidanges sont devenues assez nombreuses avec le
temps, faisons un petit tour d'horizon des principales à connaître.</p>
<h2>Norme SAE</h2>

<p>La norme SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) concerne la viscosité, avec deux
types d'huile : <a href="/articles-auto/huiles-et-lubrification/s-1880-huiles-
monograde-et-multigrade.php">monograde et multigrade</a>.<br>
Une monograde n'aura qu'un seul indicateur : SAE 40 par exemple pour une huile été
et SAE 20W (toujours par exemple) pour une huile hiver. Une huile multigrade aura
deux indices, celui de l'hiver (W) et celui à chaud : 5W40 par exemple. <a

comprendre.php">La viscosité n'est pas mesurée de manière identique en ce qui
concerne celle à froid (centipoise) et celle à chaud (centistroke)</a>.</p>
<h2>Norme ACEA</h2>

<p>La norme ACEA (Association des Constructeurs Européens Automobile) permet de
distinguer la qualité des huiles / leur niveau de gamme en quelque sorte. On en
recense généralement trois pour les essences et quatre pour les diesel mais en
réalité il y a bel et bien 5 niveaux par type de moteur.<br>
Le code A correspond aux moteurs essence, B pour les diesels (tourisme), C pour
répondre à des normes spécifiques sur certaines marques (diesels modernes aux
systèmes de dépollution complexes, elles sont donc toutes haut de gamme), et E
pour les utilitaires diesel.<br>
Certains moteurs modernes (au rendement et aux contraintes plus importantes)
imposent de prendre une huile haut de gamme, vous n'aurez donc pas toujours le
choix :</p>
<p><strong>Diesels de tourisme :</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>B1 : entrée de gamme</li>
<li>B2 : milieu de gamme</li>
<li>B3 : haut de gamme</li>
<li>B4 : haute qualité pour injection directe</li>
<li>B5 : très haute qualité permettant un espacement important entre les
vidanges (qu'on appelle communément Longlife). Aquivalent à C1</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Diesels et essences de tourisme normes spécifiques (catalyseur 3 voies
et FAP) :</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>C1 : huile de grande qualité (équivalent B5) destinée à Ford
principalement</li>
<li>C2 : huile de grande qualité destinée en grande partie pour PSA (qui a
des moteurs communs avec Ford au passage)</li>
<li>C3 : huile de grande qualité destinée à DaimlerChrysler, Renault et les
constructeurs allemands</li>
<li>C4 : huile de grande qualité destinée à Renault entre autres</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essences de tourisme :</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A1 : entrée de gamme</li>

<p>Il s'agit d'une notation américaine utilisant l'ordre alphabétique précédée
d'une autre lettre pour préciser le type de carburation (S pour essence et C
diesel).</p>
<p>Voici les normes en essence (<font color="#808080">les lignes grisées</font>
correspondent à des huiles qui ne sont plus très utilisées) : </p>
<ul>
<li><font color="#808080">SA : moteurs des années 40 sans aucun
additif</font></li>
<li><font color="#808080">SB : moteurs des années 40 et 50 avec un peu
d'additif (notamment contre l'oxydation de l'huile)</font></li>
<li><font color="#808080">SC : moteurs des années 60 avec additif anti-dépot,
anti-corrosion et anti-usure</font></li>
<li><font color="#808080">SD : moteurs des années 60 avec un peu moins
d'additifs que sur la norme SC</font></li>

correspondent à des huiles qui ne sont plus très utilisées) :</p>

additifs anti-oxydants et détergents contrairement à la norme SA pour

<li><font color="#808080">CB : moteurs des années 50</font></li>
<li><font color="#808080">CC : moteurs des années 60</font></li>
<li><font color="#808080">CD : moteurs des années 70</font></li>
<li><font color="#808080">CE : moteurs des années 80 avec anti-usure et
dispersants</font></li>
<li>CF : moteurs des années 90 dotés d'une injection directe</li>
<li>CG : moteurs des années 90 mais convenant aux normes antipollution plus
poussées</li>
<li>CH : moteurs des années 2000 (à partir de 1998)</li>
<li>CI : moteurs des années 2000 (à partir de 2002) répondants aux normes
antipollution plus poussées, avec notamment un fonctionnement optimisé pour
les voitures avec vanne EGR</li>
<li>CJ : moteurs des années 2000 (à partir de 2006) utilisant un FAP et un
catalyseur trois voies</li>
