Sampling Techniques
Sampling Techniques
Probability sampling techniques are a set of methods used in statistics to select a sample
from a larger population. These techniques ensure that each member of the population has an
equal chance of being included in the sample, which allows for generalisation of the findings to
the entire population. (Nikolopoulou, 2022). More specifically, simple random sampling was
used to gather samples for the population of the local communities in Brgy. Katwiran 1 at Baco,
Oriental Mindoro.
After determining the minimal number of respondents needed for the study based on the
apriori analysis of power, The researchers will randomly choose locals to complete the survey
first. Specifically, "Do you regularly use charcoal for cooking or grilling purposes?" If the
answer is "yes," a randomly chosen local may proceed to answer the questionnaire. On the other
hand, if a respondent does not often use charcoal, researchers would choose another respondent
at random again. The said questionnaire will be answered after the final days of the experimental
This procedure is necessary to guarantee that the information obtained from the
respondents is legitimate, trustworthy, and capable of producing the desired results that the
