Capability dEtermination
▪ Process assessment is a disciplined evaluation of an organizational unit’s processes against a
process assessment model.
▪ The Automotive SPICE Process Assessment Model (PAM) is intended for use when performing
conformant assessments of the process capability on the development of embedded
automotive systems. It was developed in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC
33004.

Groups
Process Group is made up of processes
that address some related activities
together. These processes complete one
another to form the process group.

System Process Group
The System Engineering process group (SYS)
consists of processes addressing the
elicitation and management of customer and
internal requirements, the definition of the
system architecture and the integration and
testing on the system level.

Group
The Software Engineering process group
(SWE) consists of processes addressing the
management of software requirements
derived from the system requirements, the
development of the corresponding software
architecture and design as well as the
implementation, integration and testing of
the software.
