Dear LDAs,

Your are kindly requested to consider and implement the following lighting strategy in your designs
and applicable packages:

A) Emergency lighting fixtures to be connected to ECBS (Emergency Central Battery


System backed up by emergency generator):

1. All Exit Signs in Elevator Lobbies, corridors and escape directional lighting.
2. Lighting fixtures in stair cases (the lighting fixture in mid level landing).
3. Selected Drive Way lighting fixtures at a strategic location to achieve at least an average of 11 lux and a
minimum – at any point – of 1 lux measured along the path of egress at floor level as per Saudi Building
Code (SBC-801).

B) Emergency lighting fixtures to be supplied by the emergency generator:

1. 25% of lighting fixtures in elevator lobbies to be supplied by the emergency generator.


2. 25 % of lighting fixtures in the main Electrical, IT & Mechanical Rooms (with minimum of one fixture
per room).
3. One lighting fixture in the floor typical Electrical/IT Rooms.
4. All lighting fixtures in Security Room.
5. All lighting fixtures in MTR.
6. All lighting fixtures in Fire Command Center.
7. 25 % of lighting fixtures in corridors.
8. Lighting fixtures in Elevators Shafts.
9. Lighting fixtures in stair cases (the lighting fixture in floor level landing).
