Reflective Essay Analysis

The study that I chose is all about developing the social determinants of learning. This
study discusses race and ethnicity and how it affects the learning capability of the students. I can
relate it in our previous lesson in terms of the readiness and capability of the students to learn.
Because the study is all about how race and ethnicity affects the students in learning and our
previous lesson is the determinants of learning the readiness of each student in terms of
emotional, physical, experimental and knowledge to learn. So if they are emotionally not ready
the learning will be difficult. So I can say that this study is helpful for us in nursing practice,
because we nurses will encounter different races and ethnicities and we need to treat them right.
This study is really helpful for us to be able to expand, broden and grow our knowledge to be
able to treat and give knowledge to our patients. The study is all about how social ranking affects
the learning of students.
How race and ethnicity keep on being a barrier for the students to learn and expand their
knowledge. The study shows that Americans are on the top in terms of academic quality and
many graduates have a bachelor's degree, but Americans are also the ones that have a student
graduate but in great amounts of debt. Especially the Black/African American because in terms
of race and ethnicity these students are in low rankings and in poverty so they are mostly in low
ranking in education and in graduates.
