Liquid LECTURER: MR
Control System for Household and Industrial application
.
Proposal
Project Background
In both domestic as well as industrial liquids level management is a usual problem. The
importance of accurate monitoring and control is clear – from residential water tanks to
industrial storage containers. Existing procedures usually include many manual controls, which
translate into the lack of efficiencies, productivity losses, and risks. Inefficient provision of water
within homes and unpredictable disturbances that occur as a result of poor level controls are
common phenomena which need addressing. A Liquid Level Controller will do this well. This
system ensures uninterrupted water supply in households and proper utilization. It improves
safety in operations, minimizes waste, and makes processes economical in industries.
Project Objectives
Project Scope
The goal of this project is to create a flexible and automated liquid level control system that can
be used in both household and industrial settings. The system will effectively manage the levels
of liquids in various, ensuring efficiency and convenience.
Key Objectives:
1. System Design:
Develop a detailed system architecture for both household and industrial setups.
Create circuit diagrams for sensors and actuators that can adapt to different environments.
Select appropriate sensors and actuators for different types of liquids.
2. Prototype Development:
Create comprehensive test plans and procedures for various use cases.
Generate validation reports to demonstrate the functionality and reliability of the system
in different scenarios.
4. Documentation:
Customization beyond liquid level control for highly specialized industrial processes.
Integration with specific industrial control systems (unless explicitly stated).
Modifications to existing containers beyond the installation of the liquid level control system.
Assumption: Liquid types in industrial settings will not exceed sensor accuracy limits.
Plan: Conduct extensive testing with various liquids to ensure sensor adaptability within
specified ranges.
Constraints:
Budget:
The project must adhere to a predefined budget for materials and development.
Timeline: Completion of the project within a specified timeframe, accounting for both household
and industrial phases.
Risk:
Compatibility issues with various industrial control systems.
Mitigation:
Collaborate with industry experts and conduct compatibility testing during the design
phase.
Risk:
Unexpected difficulties in adapting the system to different industrial liquid properties.
Mitigation:
Allocate additional resources for research and development during the prototype phase.
Project Budgeting
It is very important to note that this project prototype will be focusing on a liquid level
control system for a small industrial scale and household purposes. One of the main
reasons is because of the timeline and also the cost can vary widely depending on several
factors, including the type of sensors used, the level of automation, and the specific
requirements of the application. Below is a table that consists of some of the basic
component of the liquid level prototype and the functions of these component and the
price ranges for these components.

If the client decides to move forward with the liquid level control project, the next steps could
include:
1. Final Consultation Call or Meeting: Schedule a final consultation call or meeting to
discuss the project details, confirm requirements, and address any remaining questions or
concerns. This will ensure that both parties are aligned on the project scope and
expectations.
2. Drafting and Approving a Contract: Prepare a detailed contract outlining the project
scope, deliverables, timeline, costs, payment terms, and any other relevant terms and
conditions. Both parties should review and approve the contract to ensure mutual
understanding and agreement.
3. Procurement of Materials and Equipment: Identify and procure the necessary materials,
sensors, controllers, and other equipment required for the liquid level control system.
This may involve coordinating with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of
components.
4. Design and Engineering: Begin the design and engineering phase, where the system
architecture, control algorithms, and integration with existing infrastructure (for industrial
applications) or household plumbing systems (for household applications) are developed
and finalized.
5. Installation and Testing: Plan for the installation of the liquid level control system,
whether it's in an industrial setting or a household environment. Once installed, thorough
testing and validation should be conducted to ensure the system operates as intended.
6. Training and Handover: If applicable, provide training to the client's personnel or
household members on the operation and maintenance of the liquid level control system.
Ensure that all necessary documentation and support are provided for ongoing use.
7. Ongoing Support and Maintenance: Discuss ongoing support and maintenance
arrangements with the client to address any future needs or potential system upgrades.
By following these steps, you can ensure a smooth transition from project approval to successful
implementation of the liquid level control system for both industrial small scale and household
applications.
