Dear diary
My name is Elizabeth Miller,
I am a pupil at Our Lady’s College. I am 13 years old and my birthday is on the 26th of
December I was born in 1833. Right now, I am in the dormitory. I am here because it is
almost time to wind down for a good nights sleep. I moved here not long ago and I missed
my Mother and Father.

As you walk toward the dormitory you see a small door almost half sized door, you walk in
to the revolting smell of mould all over the walls and the corners of the room, there are 5
beds some bigger then others so more children can fit in the room and sleep. Right now, I
am the only one in the room as I have eaten and cleaned up from the refectory and I am
packed up and ready to go to sleep.

There are so many children who use this room like me and my best friend Maria. We
normally do all our things the fastest and go to sleep first we share a there are bed together
because there are not enough beds. Most of the time me and Maria are the first to be in
and ready for bed while the others are still getting there night dresses on. My best friend
just walked in I am waiting for her to notice me she is washing her face and getting her night
gown on, all that we need to wait for is the nuns to tell us to go to bed.
